OT - Mgo Thank you

Submitted by outwest on

Last weekend my Dad, Brother, and I were blessed with the opportunity to take a trip to Ann Arbor to watch our first every Michigan game in Michigan Stadium. This is was an especially big deal because we live in Oregon, so our travel was a little more extensive than just driving up on Saturday morning before the game.

During the months leading up to our trip we posted on the blog, and read everything we could about where to stay, eat, and what to see while in Ann Arbor. It is no stretch at all to say that this trip was nothing short of amazing and a large part of that is due to the Mgo community. We relied on your expertise and you did not let us down.

We were able to enjoy Zingerman’s twice, watch Michigan crush Bowling Green, take in some Michigan Volleyball, walk through Yost, and even took a tour of the Big House. The tour was especially amazing because not only were we able to go through the locker room, see the new additions to the stadium, run down the tunnel, and play around on the field, we were also able to get a signed copy of Robert Soderstrom’s book The Big House. This may not seem like a big deal, because he signs books for anyone that buys a copy, but our copy is a little different.

While on the tour each participant is required to wear a nametag. Well everyone writes their name and goes about their tour, not us. We decided to spice up the tour a little bit by using the names, Denard, Tate, and Zoltan. So when the author was signing our copy of the book we had him make it out to Denard, Tate, and Zoltan.

I would like to say thank you to everyone on this blog that helped us in so many ways make this one of the best trips we have ever taken. The city of Ann Arbor was amazing and there was no shortage of people willing to take the time to help us find our way and make our trip more enjoyable. So to everyone at the MGOBLOG, MDen, Zingerman’s and anyone else we asked for help along the way, thank you.

This was a very fun trip! As my brother said thank you MGOBLOG for all of your help.Putting Zoltan, Denard and Tate on the nametags was a great idea. We got a lot of people compliments on who we were! It was a fun trip and look forward to going back again sometime! GO BLUE!

I see that you forgot to attend Blimpy Burger while in town. Looks like you'll have to make a return trip.

We were going to attend Blimpy Burger, but the line was around the corner when we were making our way over there.  So the next time we make it out there we will definitely eat there.  Hopefully next year for the ND game.

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time in Ann Arbor.  There really are a million things to do, but it sounds like you knocked down some good ones.  I would suggest the Brown Jug for gameday breakfast next time, it's a wonderful way to start a great Mgoday...

My dad lived in Michigan for about 8 years when he was younger.  He eventually moved all over the west coast before settling down here in Oregon.  It is because of him that my family is now die hard Michigan fans in a world of Beavers and Ducks.
