at least it's not just us?
OT - Maurice Clarett giving rugby a shot.
(Sound of deep inhale) ...is that what they're calling this shit now?
Do they play Rugby with a bar of soap now?
Its been a while since he was at ohio, and he's certainly given us enough joke fodder. I hope he figures it all out and makes something of himself.
I hope that Clarett can complete the job of getting his life on track. He sounds like a changed guy and good for him. No reason to keep mocking the guy ten years down the line. I'm guessing that most of us wouldn't want to held to dumb crap we did at 20 forever.
In anyone is interested, here's a great article by Ramzy about Maurice.
The "dumb crap" most of us did at 20 didn't involve driving down the freeway swigging vodka in a car full of assault weapons. But yeah, I get your point.
Oh that's totally acceptable behavior when you sign with a Russian Mobster agent and he loaned you $ on your first contract.
The dumb stuff we did like attempting to rob someone? However I beileve that the great thing about our country is that we have an opportunity for second chances at life. Hopefully he's a changed man
As someone who was very close to making the USA pool in rugby, I'll say that he'd be a load to take down, and likely plays the same position I did (outside center). That said, there is a TON more cardio required in rugby and knowing him, he probably loafs after the first 20 minutes of a match.
Make him a hooker.
Given his beverage of choice during the Broncos' training camp, the headline's word selection is very appropriate.
This guys story should be required reading for every incoming NCAA football player.
No matter how much talent you have, how many big plays or games, if you don't follow the rules (and the law) you will end up with nothing.
Just be glad he's not trying to give any witnesses another "shot".
Sad decline. This guy had such a great attitude and heart. He just never quite had the physical tools he needed to be successful.
If serious. I think he had all of the physical tools. Every problem he had was off of the field.
I'd reckon your /s meter needs some fine tuning
Doesn't laurinaitis have an in there?
A few teammates of mine on Bowling Green State University's rugby team play for Tiger Rugby in the Summer and will probably play with him this summer. It's a highly respected club in the states, and USA 7s player(and BG alum) Rocco Mauer also plays for Tiger. I'm sure his cardio is awful but the coaches will whip him into shape. If he can get his fitness level up to match-standards, I think he could be a force on the pitch. With that being said, I hope he stays out of trouble and uses this as a way to get his life back on track.
He is one of the saddest stories ever. Unbelieveable talent. Too bad people only tried to proffit off of him.
