OT: Matt Millen Taking Over the Broadcasting Universe

Submitted by michman79 on
Sorry but what is the deal with this guy? It feels like every game I turn on, college or Pro, he is freaking announcing. He is doing the Niners/Bears game on NFL Network right now. What is next? "GM of Love" starring Millen on VH1? Sorry to vent but this guy is working awfully hard for someone who is still being paid by the Lions.

I really dislike all the NFL broadcaster-speak he brings to the college game. He's always talking about guys with a "great motor" and guys that have "great vision." This seemingly endless use of generalities reminds me that he hasn't been calling the college game for very long, and thus doesn't have the best knowledge of its players. His college broadcasting makes me feel like I'm watching the mass-produced NFL, and that's annoying.

To add insult to injury, NFL network just zoomed in on Rod Marinelli on the Bears sideline and Millen had some nice things to say about him. It's time to go to bed. I'm not used to this kind of emotion on a non-saturday.

My favorite part was the fact he just went on and on about how Marinelli was one of the best coaches he's been around and how good a job he was doing with the Bears. I can just imagine the look on the other booth announcer's face. After his little soliloquy there was just utter silence for a few seconds before the other guy just resumed calling the game. Priceless. Thanks Millen.

I was going to start a topic on this but you threw it out there. How dare Millen try to cover his terrible decisions and validate them in front of a national audience? It's disgusting that these networks even allow him on there. The difference between Schwartz and MORONelli is so obvious after just one season. Not too far off in the W/L column but way far off in terms of knowledge. And let's not even get started on Millen's track record of drafting players. If Matt Millen was from Ohio State I would hate him more than Osama Bin Laden and Rosie O' Donnell's offspring, ahhhh!

No matter what Matt Millen talks about (even things I may usually tend to agree with,) I find it impossible to take him seriously. He's arguably the worst GM in the history of sports.
