for design artists.
that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides
for design artists.
someone show these pictures to Joe Paterno at his next press conference and see what he has to say about them. Then cut to the studio to get Bob Knight's opinion right after that. That would be some entertainment.
It looks like a mexican parade
if you ask me
If only they had hired Leach. Edsall is antithetical to those uniforms.
from OK to horrible (fast)

Are their school colors now Ketchup, Mustard and Death?
What did uni watch have to say I'm sure there was nothing good about these they look terrible. These schools must know they look ridiculous right?
The only two I approve of are the Black/Black and the White/White. Everything else sucks. Under Armour should just stick to lacrosse jerseys, these might make better lax jerseys anyways. But this is like Oregon 2.0. God I would hate to see what their retro jerseys look like.
Maryland doesn't have uniforms; it has the closet of a 15-year old girl who has a bizarre affection for red, yellow, and black.
Ugly ass uniforms aside, that turtle shell helmet is pretty badass
I guess if you can't play good football, the only way to make up for it is to look really, really stupid.
They look like a women's team: in a Las Vegas bordello.
Even the Cy-Hawk trophy sculptor is laughing at these....
This sort of reminds me of the Padres uniforms in the early 80s. You would look at them and think that the designer was inspired by someone evacuating after a spicy meal....
As a designer myself, all I can say is 'wow.'
The thing that stands out to me the most is those gradient numbers... We've seen Nike play with them for awhile (on Boise St's Pro Combat jersey this year, in fact), but these just aren't handled that well, especially on the red jersey where they invert from negative to positive on the same background.
In other words, from about the 10th row that '59' is gonna look like 'CO.' Yeesh.
when Maryland came to the Big House?
I've had a rethink on this, I commend Maryland for fitting in all 4 school colors, thats hard to do. But overall the design and presentation is just hideous.
I remember on of their fans chanting "beat the spread, beat the spread" in the 4th quarter.
NASCAR ratings and attendance has suffered for the past three or four years. This undoubtedly is a reflection of the poor economy but some have speculated that the fact that teams change sponsors and paint schemes on an almost race-to-race basis has made the events more difficult to watch because it is difficult for the average fan to know if their favorite driver was passed by Dale Jr., Cousin Carl, or Rowdy Busch at a glance. A confused fan isn't going to tune in long. I can see this as an issue for a school like Maryland who isn't known for having a strong football program and likely doesn't have a strong fan base.
If a casual fan is flipping through the channels he may flip right on past the Maryland game because he doesn't recognize the uniforms. Similarly, a casual fan may lose interest after cheering for the wrong team when they play other red, black, or yellow teams.
These aren't uniforms in the classic sense of the term. Maybe multiforms?
Sorry, posted from MgoDroid.
They kind of remind me of the uni's that an obnoxious team in Any Given Sunday would wear.
or the Duluth franchise in the Arena Football League.
Have you seen Georgia's PRO COMBAT set yet...? Might give these a run for their money.
PS: Hear that? That's the sound of me being too lazy to go find a link.
They screwed up a perfectly good uniform. I thought their helmets were actually pretty cool before, but now they're pieces of crap. Sigh...
Those garbage uniforms looks like something from the XFL. Where's McMahon when you need him.
Has anyone noticed the following of teams like UM and Alabama, who's jerseys are plain, simple, and timeless. That's branding - I don't know what Georgia and Maryland are trying to pull.
I have to agree with you, I've always thought that UM, Penn State, and ND's uniforms were most classic uniforms in the game. No obnoxious logos on the helmets, and the jerseys and pants are simple.
... umm.... the helmet stripe? (They do have the coolest state flag, might as well encorporate that design somewhere--the helmet stripe gets an "A")
These unis need more cowbell... I mean, yellow. /s The more I look at 'em, the more I think that they are "ok" if you just get rid of the yellow jersey and switch yellow pants for red or black with maybe a TINY bit of yellow.
