OT: Man shops verbal commitment for unborn son on Ebay
Sigh, yeah that's real. Great precedent set by the NCAA.

for Auburn to get slammed by the NCAA. Take the bait Chizik...WAR DAMN EAGLE BABY!!
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
In my fantasy, they have to forfit all of their wins, and Newton forfits is probable heisman. Let's hope.

current bid @ 6.00..
can he play corner?
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
People are actually bidding on this! It's up to $17.25 now.
(-1 to those bidder's immortal souls.)

absolutely hilarious. I know its a sad incident and precedent set by the NCAA, but this is sheer comedic genius
December 2nd, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^
Well... at least we know for a fact the son doesn't know its happening, yet...
It does seem like he will have good pad level.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:01 PM ^
That is horrible. I wonder how much. Just sayin'.
One thing is for sure, he is not a 5-star in capitalization. Or is he? I also like that he'll take invisible payments.
"Payment Must Be Hidden With No Evidence Also My Son Must never know"

the chance of a third arm may make him a high risk/high reward prospect.

Am I the only one that felt kind of dirty just clicking the link to this thread and thus didn't even click the link from the OP? If I'm going to obsess over the decision of young kids, I think they should probably have a definite birthday.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:05 PM ^
Is he asking for, let's say, "anywhere between 100k and 180k"?
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:05 PM ^
completely brilliant.

To all of those offended by this...I mean c'mon. It's pointing to the absolute absurdity of the claim that Cam somehow was totally unaware of what his dad was doing. What'd he say after leaving Florida? Somehow I don't see a potentially star QB saying "oh, Dad, you can take care of my recruitment, just let me know how it goes kthanks." This is a clever way to highlight the clear ridiculousness and get attention (rather than go to a blog and groan). In fact, he's pretty much highlighting the only way it could've been done without Cam's knowledge.
The real question is, will Pop Warner see this and ban the father from contact with all pee-wee games?

Thanks for clarifying.
:/

Any reason for the snark? The only reason I wrote that post was because other posters were legitimately stating they felt dirty from reading it, indicating they maybe didn't understand the entire story (perhaps due to not reading up on the most recent, sports-center clogging Cam news?).
I get it, we're all in a bad mood around here, especially with the board devolving into a shit-flinging, low-iq RABBLEfest (aka RCMB). But some civility wouldn't hurt, I really don't see the need to jump on a relatively innocuous response to a thread.
This place is really starting to self-cannibalize, and badly.

Idiots do this stuff (yes we all know its a joke) but these people do get in trouble.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:20 PM ^
And any prosecutor that actually tried to go after somebody for something like this would be laughed out of court.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
"What a hoot"
He and his son will laugh about this forever.
Great idea.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
This is hilarious
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:45 PM ^
lost all credibility with me on this ruling.
ENTER THE RANT MAN:
If there is enough facts to support that his dad shopped Cam around then he should be suspended immediately pending investigation.
Failure to do so encourages more behaviour like this - encourages! Poor fathers will be taking the cash upfront left and right - having seen the NCAA sweep it all under the rug until the player wins his heisman trophy and improves his pro stock.
This makes the RR investigation and the fab five look like petty infractions.

Why BCS? They don't have a say--after all, it doesn't exist.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
That is awesome. Clearly he is making light of the situation with Newton, and I commend him for it. And with a going price of $102, it is pratically a steal.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
is for a Nigerian scammer to win.
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
How's his projected pad level?
December 2nd, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
Dude just came up with probably the easiest 100+ dollars ever
December 2nd, 2010 at 8:40 PM ^
That's awesome!

18 years from now, if this kid isn't a 5-star athlete, can the buyer file a dispute with paypal and get his money back in year 2029 dollars?
