OT: Making of the Madden Franchise (ESPN OTL)

Really interesting even for someone who hasn't been a diehard fan of the series (bought it used every couple years). Interesting even for the general explanation of the development of technology and how video games, once considered a potential "Cabbage Patch Kid phase" is now a financial giant.

I worked at EA during 1985 as a producer for new software. I reported to Trip Hawkins and worked with Joe Ybarra who was also a producer. Trip was a visionary. He was passionate and driven especially for games. Joe was a brillant technical guy who had good social skills. He was equally passionate about games. It was a good article and it captured the sense of adventure of EA back when it started. Great company back then and you could fit the whole staff into one conference room. I have plenty of stories about those days but they have nothing to do with college football.
