OT - Lunar Eclipse was going on NOW, but no longer

Submitted by MGoneBlue on

The moon is currently fully within the shadow of the Earth and will remain so for about an hour. Catch it while you can!

Edit:  And we're done.  Hope the skies were just clear enough.

Cloudy here in Evanston but the clouds parted for about five minutes. It was definitely a blood moon. I think this is the only time I've ever seen the moon's dimension. Very sci fi/Star Wars looking.

Spotty high clouds are moving through Romulus at the moment, but the trend is towards less coverage, which is nice because we're about to see the peak if I am not mistaken. Getting some great photos in between the clouds.

Very, very cool. I wish more people on my street were out here appreciating this, but then I remember that I have a neighbor that plays Johnny Cash really loudly at inappropriate hours and I get the impression that I might be one of the brave few on the street.
