OT - Longest winning streak in college sports is snapped.
Trinity college (from Hartford, CT) just lost its first squash match since 1997-1998. 13 time defending national champions....not sure how big intercollegiate squash is but either way, that's pretty damn impressive.

Trinity's squash team lost?!?!? This is now the worst day ever.

Let's give some credit to the team that beat them.

I remember a while back ESPN did a story on them. Pretty wild.

Those damn Bulldogs. Yale Sucks!

How big of a loser do you have to feel like to know you were on that team that lost for the first time in 13 years?

In their defense, the popularity and competition in squash has skyrocketed in the past few years.

ended two weeks ago. I think it was 84 dual meets straight without a loss. The loss came to Oklahoma State via new tie-breaker rules that were implemented this year. Fittingly, the 84 meet unbeaten streak is tied for the longest ever with....Oklahoma State.

streak there. There are a lot of jokes one could make about 'streaks' and wrestling. (oye, that was in poor taste, sorry)
Also, I wonder what the new tie-breaker rules were? Number of ass-grabs? (No disrepect to wrestling as those guys are crazy athletes, but just not my cup-o-tea to grab another sweaty dude for long periods of time in front of a crowd)

this is exactly why I didn't go into wrestling. Did a few camps, was actually pretty darn good, just couldn't get over having a dudes junk on me or mine on him for the majority of our competition.

if you spent that much time thinking about your opponents junk and your own while wreslting. Bet you think those QBs and centers are a little to close for comfort in a pro system too.

Why do you think Brian is always demanding everything to be run from the shotgun?

It's because AC Slater graduated.

I didn't know eating contests even existed in college athletics.

My college swimming team won 31 straight national championships before losing one either last year or the year before... I don't think this is accurate... unless it was simply the longest active streak.
January 19th, 2012 at 4:12 PM ^
Did you win every single meet during those 31 national championship years? I think the main point of this wasn't necessarily the 13 straight NCs (which is still damn impressive), but the 252 straight victories in season and postseason play. That's just redonkulous.

I'm still more impressed by this Trinity sports team:

I remember this video from a few years ago. They take their squash very seriously at Trinity.
