OT: Long weekend plans - Humblebragging edition
I'll be spending most of the long weekend with people I'm not exactly fond of, doing things I'd rather not do.
Is anyone doing something fun this weekend? Taking the boat out? Getting on a plane and taking a vacation? Two chicks at the same time?
Tell us all about your plans.
Rome. Andiamo, beetches...
Wedding reception tonight. Yard work tomorrow. Capped off Sunday by our annual BBQ. Ribs and other assorted things will be in the smoker.

Just rolled into Green River, UT for some hiking, biking, rafting, and psychedelics!
My wife worked last night, and is back at it tonight and tomorrow night. It's just me, our 4 year old and our 9 month old hanging out. We don't usually get too crazy.

Since I've read so much about local microbrews on this blog, the girlfriend and I are headed to Ann Arbor for our own two-person mini pub crawl. Our tentative plans include stops at Blue Tractor, Arbor, Grizzly Peak, and Jolly Pumpkin.
If anyone has any suggestions (or conversely, any places to avoid), they'll be cheerfully accepted.
Old German
It is in the basement of Grizzly Peak and normally has a few more very interesting beers available in addition to the GP brews. Appetizer type smaller menu and typically opens at 4PM. My wife likes the shots that are served in ice shot glasses(peppermint and cherry).

Add Hopcat and Wolverine (though not downtown) to your list
I second wolverine. Most underrated brewery in the area.

Agreed. I don't really care for Arbor. Very average and inconsistent
Take out Arbor Brewing and get the Red at Grizzly (IMO the only good beer there)
chickens, turkeys, planting, fix the chicken tractors, fire wood chop/stack, the usual for this time of year.
So at least someone might be dealing with "two chicks at once" like the OP hoped.
and did i mention manure spreading? oh yeah, the smell is heavy in the air but we're done with that now. will let it sit for a few days, plow it under, and finish planting.
Going to an island resort of the coast of Acapulco for a week.
We sold our house. Closing at 4! Wait, who scheduled a closing at 4 pm on a holiday weekend??? Then headed to our houseboat to celebrate!
Final prep on the 911 and then going to Watkins Glen for 2 days on the track. Otherwise, normal, suburban family stuff - lawn mowing, bike ride, shopping, barbecuing, etc...
Oh and cheering for the Michigan softball team...
Great Activity
Have been thinking about tracking my 1993 RS America. Enjoy!!

I highly recommend it. This will be my first time at the Glen and only my 6th event. The car seems to like it - it seems to run better. The brakes squeal after a track day but that just reminds me of the track day...
Driving down tomorrow morning to take in my 27th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. Might be the last race before we start taking our oldest daughter so I might have to make it a good one. The race has lost a little luster since its heyday but it remains one of my favorite weekends of the year.

Love the Indy 500.
As a kid, I thought the Johnny Lightning Special was the coolest thing that ever existed.
BTW, Indy may have lost some luster since the split, but the last four races in a row are among the best of all time. It's actually a much better race now than anytime in its "heyday".
. . . and that makes five races in a row.
it's called misappropriation. look it up "Artie"
You've posted this ten times today.
Da UP. And holy heck is it cold up here.
I am SO not working. That is all.
Other than solemn moments when we remember our fallen military we should be jackhammering something. And nobody get sick either.
I'm proposing on Sunday! If you're the praying type, please keep me in mind for good weather on Sunday in Chicago

Good luck and have fun!

work colleague proposed last night and she said "Yes." Hopefully, you will have the same outcome....
Congrats. So you work with your fiancé?
Actually, I wasn't clear - my work colleague proposed to his now fiance. I have been married 20 years. Now I understand why I am in finance instead of journalism....
Off to a good start! Gas company came by, found a leak, and shut off or gas. So now I'm waiting for the plumber, and hoping all fixes are quick and easy. Looks like we'd be grilling our way through the weekend, even if we didn't want to. That and cold showers.

Working Saturday, Sunday, Monday.....
My fucking problems won't be over...but this weekend will help.
Hitting Santorini, Israel, and Moscow. Lots of flights between Athens and the rest, but they are quick besides the finish in Moscow.
Meeting some friends in A^2 for copious amounts of alcohol. Celebrating the pending purchase of our new house in Brighton. Yay, massive debt!

Headed to Vancouver for the first time for a buddy's bachelor weekend. En route right now.
Any recommendations / suggestions while there?
Saturday-
Soccer games in the am.
Dripping off one car for AC fix.
Watching Tomorrow Land with the kids.
Watching Rockets win against GS.
Sunday-
Clean the garage, BBQ and getting drunk.
Monday-
Sleep in, BBQ more and watch Rockets tie series.
My long weekend consists of 12 hour shifts dealing with people having a lot more fun than me! Seriously, enjoy your weekend for those of us who won't be (other than the paycheck) and take some time Monday to remember the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Golf tomorrow morning, probably BBQ in the evening and some gardening. Stuck taking pictures for my niece's birthday party on Sunday, but also planning to BBQ again. Monday I hope to sleep in and just relax - all day.

Spending the weekend at home (in Petoskey), probably will do some fly-fishing and also walleye fishing. But for tonight, bar-hopping downtown with friends.
Cabin on an isolated creek in the woods of the Pacific Northwest with my wife, dog and cat. Three days of hiking, reading, relaxing. Also shrooming on Sunday.
Doing shrooms or looking for shrooms?
Both!
I detect very little humbleragging on this thread. Hoping everyone has a safe and peaceful holiday. And for those who have to work, hope it isn't too crazy and you can spend some tie with friends and/or family.

Working on a few cases and praying that nobody does anything stupid this weekend to add to my case load. So no I&I for me. On the plus side my office should be nearly empty so I should get a lot done.
I'm staying IN TOWN (!), lounging around like a loser AND probably eating anything not made on a grill. Beat that.....guys...gals.....I hate my life lol.
Going out into the woods with two horny females and trying to attract horny males.
Note that all in this plan except me are moths.
Fishing tomorrow. Do whatever wife and kids want on Sunday. Go to a Veterans Remembrance on Monday and then more kids choice excursions. I got some more beans to plant in my garden, hopefully kids want to do that together.
