good luck with that
The Independent Olympians looked like they were having by far the most fun.
Grenada's entire population fits in our stadium. TMYK
The entire capacity of that stadium fits into our stadium, with 31,700 seats left over.
Thank goodness the camera operators are focusing on the hot chicks.
Has such good looking women.
Now I see why they hand out 150,000 condoms to the athletes. Lots of very attractive women.
supposed to represent? Just tuned in.
I don't know if Paul's old or nervous. Quite the opportunity for a great performer's swang song.
I know Paul wouldnt have wanted to sing John's song..but man would "Imagine" been awesome.
I think they really missed the boat by not highlighting that song.
He's 70, so my guess is the warbling voice was age related.. My smart-aleck daughter (not the Sparty one) knew from previews that McCartney was going to be featured at the end. When the one bicyclist/dove "flew" into the air, she said "I wonder if that's Paul McCartney." I pointed out he was kind of old to be doing stunts like that, to which she responded, "Well, the Queen did just jump out of a helicopter."
The beginning of the show was weird, but no Olympic ceremony will ever top the music to London '12, that's sure.
Following China left London with little hope for a memorable opening ceremony. I for one was not impressed with the queen/helicopter thing...not sure why everyone gushed over that....I guess old ladies get automatic points though.. Wondering why if the queen is so "with it" she can't muster up something resembling a slight smile from time to time. Also, the married couple and their house that played background for the musical hits from the past....very dumb and confusing.
She's not just any old lady. In her entire 60 year reign, the Queen of England hasn't been known to do anything spontaneous. It's her stuffy, humorless image that makes the connection with a fictional character, known for his daring endeavors work. I do agree with you on the house and the kids with the cell phones, and the whole "look, a Brit invented the internet" was too forced and didn't work very well and, had it not been for the music, would have been a complete loss.
