OT: Live streaming Michigan Football?
Is there any way to watch Michigan games (ESPN? BTN?) live via the internet, or is cable my only option?
I realize this may end up being a short thread, but the family and I are moving into our new place in A2 in a few weeks. We've realized that it's hard to justify spending $100+ a month on cable when most of what we watch can be streamed online. The obvious limitation would be Michigan football... if there's no other way to be able to watch all away games live, then I guess we are stuck.

I no longer useFirst Row because they require you to disable Ad Block , and the transmissions are horrible without Ad Block.
I live in Europe so need to stream everything.
ESPN player is good for many Michigan games on espn or ABC, and some basketball as well.
For free streaming with Ad Block I use Wiziwig and feed2all (football and basketball)

I cannot get BTN to Go here but you can if you wish to pay for it.

Eh, I used first row sports all season with adblock and didnt have any issues. I was actually surprised, because last season I had a problem with using adblock during the end of the season. This season, smooth sailing for all the games
I guess all the games were so bad it was pointless to block. *shrugs*

I used to use that site all the time too but without adblocker it's a cesspool of ads

Basketball? Football is like 9 months away.

If you want to watch watchespn and BTN , you 'll need friends with passwords. Directv is enough for BTN, but won't work for ESPN. Comcast and folks like them will get you access to both with the right credentials.
Roku is good for free watchespn I believe. There is not a BTN channel available, yet

A new deal announced today between DirecTV and Disney will make live and on-demand ESPN content available to subscribers of the satellite service, finally extending WatchESPN and ESPN3 to its 20 million subscribers.

If you don't have cable, try adthe or First Row Sports with AdBlock. The picture quality is poor, but at least it works. That's how I've been watching Sacramento Kings(Stauskas) and Winnipeg Jets(Trouba) games.

I've had better luck with feed2all than First Row Sports. Should be the first result if you google it. I won't post the link here for obvious reasons.
Merry Christmas!
Edit: Should add that I don't have cable TV on campus and, using this site, I haven't had any trouble catching all the football and basketball I need - Michigan or otherwise.

I stream many of the games since I don't have Big 10 Network. I use the sites listed above. Works okay most of the time. Adblock is required because I found the sites are really ad-intense. Check them out ... test other sports and see how it works. Good luck and good watching in the fall!

I second the use of Adblock while streaming. It's a Chrome extension.
Turn it off for the blog, or course :)

your friends/family for their cable passwords, surely one of them would share? Maybe throw them a few bucks during the football season.

Vipbox.tv is fairly reliable for me when using Firefox and Adblocker. Without Adblocker it's a malware-fest waiting to happen.
No matter what any of these sites tell you, do not click any of the popups to update your Flash player. A buddy did that and I spent several hours getting all the malware, spyware, and garbage rooted out of his system.

You're moving to Ann Arbor = Go to the home games
...And...
Make friends with most any of your neighbors/colleagues/kids friends families and watch away games with them.
It's the local religion

This is why my post is regarding away games. This was my 25th year of season tickets, I'm proud to say.

I lived in HK for year and half a couple of years ago, fortunately my old FIOS account was still good even my cable service ends, and I was able to watch ESPN and BTN through streaming.

I've tried some of the links on wizzywig et al, but usually back out when prompted to download some "proprietary streaming addin/plugin/aplication". Are any of these actually legit?

I may just go back to cable. Other than that it's the local sports bar with the NM alumni crew. On second thought, that's just more fun anyway, so probably won't go back to cable.* I do hate giving Comcast anything.
*Basketball season also making this easier, lamentably.

I live in the Middle East and have had the best success using the Apple TV and a family member's cable info. My brother set me up an account with his cable so I have my own login and control. He lives in BTN country so I have access to that. For better (Harbaugh) or worse (last couple of years), I've been able to stream all the games perfectly.
