OT: Lions venting thread / dead inside

Submitted by AeonBlue on

It's weird to feel feelings about football stuff. I don't like it. Vent here.

through! The Lions' have always been losers and I don't think anything will change! Though the waving off a pass interference call only happens to Detroit! It could have made a difference in the game but I think not stopping Dallas on 4th and 6 was the key! But Dallas held Detroit DL that entire drive and no calls were made!

I disagree, the whole waving off the pass interference changed the entire game.
1. Pass interference, or holding. I'll take either one, but it was definitely one. That's 5 yard penalty. Puts us at the 45.

2. Dez Bryant ran on the field without a helmet, that's another 15 yards, which gives us the ball on 30. We walk away with at least 3 points, so we are up 9-13. Then it's Dallas pressing to score.

that you can call holding on every play in football. Seems funny how it was called twice on the defense when the Cowboys were trying to score a game winning TD. Add that fact to the picked up PI flag on 3rd down against Dallas and you have what you always have. A league that makes sure it's marquee teams get the help they need. Yes, the Lions made some bad plays late, none of which matter if the refs don't screw them.

You're naive if you think there isn't money being passed around behind the scenes in the NFL. NFL won't be legit until refs can be fined or suspended for making that bad of calls.

So so disappointing. I really thought we were going to win, even before the game started. Then we had that awesome start! And Stafford has made how many comebacks this year?? Well, hopefully Coach Caldwell can build on this season. Would love to regularly make the playoffs and starting winning a few of them.

I hope Aaron Rodgers shows them what's up, and I will happily continue to cheer for the Pats.

Lions had opportunities , but when an entire nation sees something odd, something is up. NFL got what it wanted, and I hope no Cowboys fans even talk on this thread cause you have no right to talk. Minus the picked up flag, Suh was held on so many plays even though he got the sack on some.

Google search "lions/Cowboys officiating" and you'll see multiple sites (NBC, Yahoo, ProFootball Talk, ect) all asking was this game fixed.

By Wednesday nobody will remember or care.  But in five years or so, when a whistle blower comes forward and lists the NFL games that the league influenced, I'll bet this one in on the list.

Now I now how the Sacremento Kings fans must've felt after their series with the Lakers.

Or San Antonio Vs Phoenix, when Stoudamire was suspended for the rest of the conference finals for urging his teammates off the floor, following the scuffle that resulted from Robert Horry deliberately forcing Steve Nash into the scorers table? I hated Horry as a Rocket, and I damn sure hated him as a Spur.

that was rigged more obviously than this one was the Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl.  That was the most obvious rig-job outside of the NBA that I've ever seen.

It's hard to really know if the games are rigged because NFL officials are so unbelievably incompetent that it could just be them being terrible at their jobs.

That DPI pickup was baffling. I semi-adopted the Lions during my time in Michigan so I feel everyone's pain, especially because fuck the Cowboys. As a born and bred Seahawks fan though it definitely makes me a feel a bit better because the Lions D-Line is terrifying. Honestly think the Lions could have won up here next week. In conclusion: fuck the Cowboys.

The PI penalty and missed holdings, that game was fixed. Fuck the NFL, they handed the Cowboys the game while shoving an endless amount of commercials up my ass. Don't know why I watch.

Fuck the Cowboys, fuck Jerry Jones and fuck the NFL. This game helped remind me why I like the college game infinitely more than the pros with all it's bullshit.
