if you told me schwartz won some sort of madden tournament to get his job i'd believe it. he's got a fan's mentality coaching an nfl team. if he could strip 60% of his emotion, he'd probably be a good coach. too bad that wont happen till he gets fired.
turning down 2 field goals is the story of the game, imo.

to and the Lions could not move it when they needed to. This is a 8-8, 9-7 football team that has made some strides, but still has a long ways to go in other. For starters, they need overhaul the defensive staff. Cunningham is garbage. He needs to go.
Secondly, they WR corps needs to be addressed. This is the number one need on the team right now. They have no one outside of CJ. They need a Marquis Lee or Allen Robinson as well as another veteran receiver. Ross, Ogletree, Riddick, Durham...these guys are forgettable players. They have no other receiver other than Megatron.

Marquis Lee would be a perfect complement to Megatron. Abbrederis is a superb player, but I see him more as a number 3. Not overly fast or big(6'2, 4.6) but great hands. and good athleticism. I could see the Lions drafting, but not as a #2. Ideally you want an #2 who can also take over a game or at least threaten the coverage deep. Anyways, since teams run so much three wides now he would still catch 60-70 balls a year.
I like the idea, but not for a #2. I think the Lions wll have to cut Broyles and most of their current WRs. Broyles is injuty prone and the rest are just not good enough.

Secondary is horrible as is the pass rush, and linehan is just as bad as borges in regards to not doing wehat works,,,you put 27 pts up in one qtr..than stop going downfield the rest of the game.....the lions defense is bad..any of hose corners on another decent nfl team is a nickel,,houston has lost a step also....I don't know who is worse linehan or gunther
