OT: Lions-Saints Playoff Game Open Thread

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

OK, this other games sucks, so get all your positive Lion talk in now, since not being able to hold a 2nd string QB to under 40 has probably killed any chance of seeing the Lions win their second playoff game in most of our lifetimes. At least I'm not still in New Orleans for it.

When you can't tackle and don't take advantage of turnovers or possible turnovers...then you're not going to beat New Orleans. Especially when the refs aren't calling much in your favor.

Tonight's shit-fest notwithstanding, this is a team on the rise.  They're young, and next year they'll get Best and Leshoure back.  Upgrade the O-Line and the back 7 on D, and this team is gonna be pretty damn good.

The Saints have had a few more years of competent management than the Lions, who will be there soon.

These guys did a great job this year, and will be worth watching for some time.

You get the ball back down three scores with 30 seconds left at your own 3 yard line.

Megatron isn't fast enough to physically cover the length of the field three times in 30 seconds. Methinks that's the better part of valor.

Things like dropping 3 easy interceptions can not happen when you are playing in the playoffs. Obviously the Lions need better corners too (and LB's who can tackle).

The DBs are TURRIBLE! The front 4 cannot get to the QB when there is an open receiver on almost every down. And the LB play in pass defense was just bad all night. This team needs to get help in the secondary. I swear if they draft any offensive players in the first three rounds someone needs their ass kicked!

I think we actually had a good game plan against them.  Just didn't make a few plays and let it get away. Best available is no longer the draft strategy for this team. We have needs.
