OT: Lions-Saints Playoff Game Open Thread
OK, this other games sucks, so get all your positive Lion talk in now, since not being able to hold a 2nd string QB to under 40 has probably killed any chance of seeing the Lions win their second playoff game in most of our lifetimes. At least I'm not still in New Orleans for it.

Arrington!
January 7th, 2012 at 10:08 PM ^
My God! Do any of the DBs or LBs ever tackle with their arms? It's absurd how bad their tackling is. All they ever want to do is bump and push.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:08 PM ^
These Saints must be saints on the field. This game is frustrating right now
January 7th, 2012 at 10:08 PM ^
If you extend the ball out it doesn't matter if you also pull it back YOURSELF. This isn't the goalline.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
Thank you. I am shaking with rage over this right now.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:47 PM ^
Shaking with rage? Seriously? You need to get a life then.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
He fumbled the ball, so the spot should be the point of the recovery, which was well short.
But whatever.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
Exactly. I was really surprised that it seems like the refs treated it as breaking the plane which is so wrong.

da fuck
January 7th, 2012 at 10:09 PM ^
this crap happens if they don't give the Saints a first down on their own 20 when they ony got to the 19.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
F that drive. This is more home cooking then a basketball game at Indiana
January 7th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
January 7th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
Such an offense might set the all-time single-season passing mark...
January 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
If you try....
January 7th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
The officiating is so damn infuriating!
January 7th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
I defy anyone to tell me that at least PART of his thinking in going for it on 4th & inches there was that if it was close, the break from the zebras would go his way.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:12 PM ^
You get screwed on the road in an NFL playoff game.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Hopefully it helps Brady take New England all the way. That is, because we're getting screwed out of this game.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
Except the Lions don't get home cooking like this at Ford Field. Ever.
The league has favorite teams. Goody good Drew Brees and the Saints are one of them. Arm-stomping Ndamukong Suh and skank-fucking Matthew Stafford are not in the club.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:13 PM ^
that the Lions will not be allowed to win this game.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
the refs will give us some make-up calls, afterall we are the Lions. Oh wait...shit.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
we iz screwed
January 7th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Earn the right to be a "Golden Child" team like the Saints, Pats and GB, they will always get screwed by the refs.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:15 PM ^
Hey hey... a holding on New Orleans! O wait it doesn't matter? Shucks
January 7th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
by Young
January 7th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
I'm one to think that holding is over-called, but the Saints are tackling the line, which is giving Brees all day to throw. Not. One. Call. I hate the NFL - such a front-running league.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
The NFL makes it easy for the teams that are already winning and really hard for anyone new. Hell, look at the way things went for the Saints their first playoff year. It was only when it was clear they weren't fluky that they started getting calls.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
what a throw. omg
January 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
long after Johnson is down will the refs let the Saints pull and grab at him?
January 7th, 2012 at 10:17 PM ^
Shouldn't the lions be the golden child of the NFL? Detroit is basically New Orleans after Katrina without the natural disaster
January 7th, 2012 at 10:39 PM ^
Detroit had their own disaster... far more damaging than Katrina. This one's name was Coleman Young.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
When they double cover you and it doesn't matter.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:19 PM ^
If we don't get a touchdown here, it's pathetic.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:21 PM ^
Looked in but ugly
January 7th, 2012 at 10:21 PM ^
overturn that, I will still be glad they overturned the TD in the Sugarbowl
January 7th, 2012 at 10:21 PM ^
RIght? RIGHT?
January 7th, 2012 at 10:21 PM ^
Call into the head of NFL officiating: "What? The lions? Come on Michaels you guys know better than this. Obviously no td. I don't even have to look at it."
January 7th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
not just stands
January 7th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
Getting two possessions on turnovers and no points is going to haunt the way this game is going.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
Will haunt us far, far, far, far, far, more.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
It's the refs fault the Lions didn't cash in on those two turnovers. /s
January 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
this is the drive our DB's need to not drop the interception coming their way.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
Or capitalize on a holding call
January 7th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
So Stafford is just going to beat the Saints himself? That's how Brees and co. are going to lose, by being out-worked and out-hustled by a hungrier Lions team. Like that.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
Need another turnover.
January 7th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
I've broken out a Bell's Third Coast Old Ale for the fourth quarter. We're getting a stop here.

That I smuggled this home to SF in my plane luggage at Christmas. Special bottle.
