The season hasn't even started yet, and it looks like the Lions are likely going to part ways with Jim Schwartz at season's end (barring a major Lions turnaround). A name that has surfaced is Notre Dame's Brian Kelly.
Kelly has been successful at every level he's coached at, and staying in the midwest with a return to Michigan could lure Kelly into the NFL. There's no doubt that he wants to jump to the NFL at some point (based on his interest last season), and the Lions could be the perfect landing spot for him.
The biggest question will revolve around recruiting, and what kind of impact will this have on ND's 2014 class? If these reports continue to surface during the season we could see some big names reconsider their college choices. In my opinion Kelly would have to squash these rumors early on to keep the heat of the media away. If he takes the no comment approach and again interviews this year, I would say he's gone.
