OT--Lions in the Pro Bowl

Submitted by MGoKereton on

Didn't see this on the board, and apologies if it is.

Two Lions, Calvin Johnson and Suh, are starters in the Pro Bowl.  It's nice to see these guys didn't get snubbed for being Lions, but it's pretty hard to make a case that these two shouldn't be starting in the Pro Bowl.  Congratulations are definitely in order, I think.

You may be the only person that thinks that. Although Shaun Hill isn't too terrible, Stafford has looked like the clear starter when healthy. In the beginning of the season he looked crisp and made some spectacular throws. I'd be happy with him as the quarterback, but I doubt he will ever become a serious starter due to injury concerns. The team has some nice pieces now in Suh (along with the entire D-Line), CJ, Best, and the TEs, but the quarterback position needs to be resolved. I hope they draft a qb semi-early in the next draft.

Including Laurence Timmons (MLB), Casey Hampton (NT), and our man LaMarr Woodley (OLB).

Tell me how what's going to go down as the third-best rushing defense in the history of the NFL only sends two players to the Pro Bowl.

EDIT: I'm not taking away from the Lions, guys.  Suh and CJ are beasts and I love watching them play and win the Lions games.  If only Stafford could stay healthy...

should've made it to the Pro Bowl.  Dude has been good this season.  He's playing better than Jordan Gross and Chad Clifton.  No, it's not me being a homer.

Stefan Logan got snubbed.  He's top 5 in the NFL in both KR and PR.

This lions franchise is headed full steam ahead in the right direction and it is great to see two guys starting in the pro bowl. Mostly happy for Calvin because he's deserved a spot on the pro bowl in years past

They're a much better team than their record suggests. Definitely going in the right direction. I mean, we're in a time where "next year is the year" could become a reality soon(we were sadly mistaken many times before). Big hopes for the future, and Suh and Johnson are big parts of that.

I like how there just playing football now. No West Coast O/Tampa 2 D. No Run and Shoot just hard nose football. If they could just keep Stafford healthy they will be dangerous in a few years…Finnally. Now tear off that fucking roof on that dome.

I liked the offense and the lions had a lot of success running this offense. In 93 or was it 92(?), the lions were in a rare company of having a 3000 yard passer, 2 1000 yard receivers and a 1000 yard rb. Wayne Fontes famously said when the offense is disbanded, the lions are scoring too fast. lol. Former Hawaii and current smu coach, June Jones was the oc for the lions at the time
