I think most schools do not sure though.
I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF YOU SONNY
I think most schools do not sure though.
Its too bad that state considers themselves a basketball school because the only sport that they could beat Indiana in this year was football.
Barely too. If IU football had the finishing capability that the MBB team has, Sparty would have a goose egg
Where's the threat? Is it lying in Derrick Nix's weed?
This sucks but it is not surprising. IU is probably the best team in the conference or at the least they are currently. I'm still annoyed that they don't have to play in Madison this year.
We blew it at Wisconsin. Fuck you Ben Brust. Ohio State was also one we easily could have won.
On the bright side of life, MSU is not too likely to win the conference at this point either. If given a choice between Indiana winning the B1G outright or Sparty doing so, I'll take Indiana.
But here is a disgusting thought. What if we lost to Sparty and Sparty beat OSU while IU beat MN. Then...we would come down to the last game of the season where if we beat Indiana then Sparty gets a share of the conference championship but they don't if we lose. God that would be so awful.
Would they get a share since IU swept them? I could look it up but I don't care enough
It's all about the record. Head-to-head only matters for BTT seeding.
Swing on it Sparty! Man I really don like Nix!
is the epitome of Michigan State. What a dirty, lowclass, fat, lazy, big mouthed asshole who thinks he is better than he is. I know IU winning is worse for us but after my kids had to watch those replays, it's worth it.
I hate it when he slaps the floor and talks shit...then barley makes it down the floor. Just shut up an play ball.
Yeah the slapping the floor thing is beyond old at this point. Play ball. You haven't won anything yet.
Dawson: 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 turnovers
Oladipo: 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, 1 block, and 1 turnover
That's almost the same.
IU winning the championship > MSU winning it
nix hit him with the tip-master++++ or zeller went to flop city
Don't worry. Izzo has a top secret camera angle that will clear him of wrongdoing.
Well, Nix did want a State highlight shown all night.
And as Derrick Nix would say, "That's pitiful."
That looks like Nix trying to push Zeller off.
Yeah, that's a terrible gif. It shows directly after Nix sacktaps him.
Does anyone else think it kinda looks like Zeller directed the arm into himself? Watch the point of impact carefully.
It actually does. At the end you see Nix look over confused and you can see Zeller has a grip on Nix's wrist in the beginning.
That, and the way the arm of Nix sort of ripples on contact, as if met by an unexpected force.
- cheating with timekeeping, twice
-throwing stuff at opposing team after losing
Do they still burn couches AFTER a loss?? Stay classy E.L.
IU winning may be worse for our Big Ten chances, but may help our chances at a #1 seed. Personally, I'd like to grab a share of the title, but it's a longshot, and I'm not going to be that disappointed if it doesn't happen, given that we ended the drought last year.
My big concern is being one of the top two teams, because the league is likely to get two #1 seeds in the tournament. From that perspective, it's good that MSU (which now has five losses) lost tonight. IU had only three losses overall going into the game, so even with a loss they were probably still in line for a #1 seed, whereas MSU now probably goes down to the 2-line. Hopefully they will lose at OSU as well (and to us, obviously) to take them out of the #1 seed picture altogether.
A common meme on here is that UM fans would have gladly taken a 22-4 record for Michigan before the season started.
But would people still be happy with that record if they knew it would mean Michigan was almost certainly out of the Big Ten title hunt at this point?
Yes, other than the msu game shitshow.
I'll take a 22-4 record anytime. That puts you in line for a possible #1 seed in the tournament. If my alternative is to be, say, 20-6 and in first place, give me the 22-4 record. I would not be surprised if the Big Ten champ ends up no better than 14-4, anyway.
Interestingly, none of our last four Final Four teams (1976, '89, '92, '93) won the Big Ten title. Meanwhile, our last three Big Ten championship teams ('85, '86, '12) all lost in the first weekend of the tournament. Some teams peak too early.
I only ask because people seemed to be so focused on us winning the big ten title. Was that just the football mentality kicking in?
Go blue Beat Ohio.
"East Lansing Fire reports 3 couch fires in the Cedar Village area following MSU's loss. No disturbances reported in the area now."
Or maybe there has been enough fire for one night? Ohhhhhh Spartyyyy
Sparty is gonna Spart.
