OT: Leaked Suicide Squad and Deadpool trailers

Submitted by Michigan Eaglet on

In the shadow of the Superman v. Batman trailer that was officially released, there were two leaked trailers for the Suicide Squad and Deadpool movies, which both look pretty damn good, especially Deadpool.  It will be rated R and looks like Ryan Renolds is going to do Deadpool justice this time around. Jared Leto looks pretty good in his role as the Joker, but it will be a little different than the Joker many people are used to. Both trailers are pretty blurry since they're leaked.

Just an FYI on the Deadpool trailer, there is a decent amount of swearing, so NSFW language warning for this one.

Embedded below.

Well that Leto scene at the end is quite ominous if you know the source material, which the OP had in his bullet points on yesterday's Superman trailer thread.

suicide squad doesn't grab me as much as Deadpool does. I guess I still don't understand why you're having the Joker save the world but I haven't read the comics.

Couple things about Deadpool....I like Ryan Reynolds but wasnt he just Green Latern a few years ago? Also, was Deadpool so comedic like this one looks? I didn't think he even talked.

He was, and he actually took a shot at his role in that movie in the trailer when he talks about the costume(which was CG). In the previous movie that Deadpool was in, his mouth was sowed shut and the only thing he said was at the end (possibly post credit scene) his mouth was opened and he let out a "Shhhhhh". He's known as the "Merc with a Mouth" for a reason though.

These are brilliant. Certainly improved my outlook for these movies.

Leto's delivery was on point. His portrayal is crazy and sadistic, yet different from Ledger's at the same time. Got the laugh down too. Awesome!

Robbie doing great as Harley too. I think SS is a prequel to BvS, so that scene might be Joker and Robin.

Deadpool is by far the most interesting trailer. He's one of my favorite comic book characters (Joe Kelly's Deadpool, fuck the rest).

Ryan Reynolds is perfect! The R rating is well suited to boot. I'm surprised Marvel went this direction given their rebooted more family friendly direction Universe. I just hope they don't get too corny with the jokes. (love the dig at Green Lantern tho)

Can't wait!!!

Deadpool > Suicide Squad > BvS

They also released a teaser trailer for the new Xmen. It was decent. Apocalypse needs some editing work tho like Bane did for TDKR.

Hammill's take is by far my favorite, just a great mix of menace and clownishness. As far as action in a screen though it's hard to not appreciate how far down the rabbit hole Ledger went and really became someone else. I loved Tom Burtons Batman but let's be honest, Jack Nicholson was playing himself in crazy makeup.

This generation of "leading men" is filled with metrosexuals and posers.   Its a shame that there are not many strong, masculine actors who can carry a picture these days.  Ryan Reynolds?  please...man....please....

I'm guessing you don't really know much about the character Deadpool then. His entire existence is based on being a wise crack. breaking the fourth wall, and being immature. He's pretty much the Van Wilder of the Marvel Universe, albeit one who is also insanely powerful and near invincible. This trailer looks like they did his character justice and Ryan Reynolds is the perfect actor to play him. Not every character, especially for a movie based on a comic book, is necessarily a manly man and they cast appropriately to the story. The Batman v. Superman movie seems to have a few male actors that fit your "ideal" character mold (inclduing Aquaman), but not every movie will have (or needs to have) a "John Wayne" to succeed and be a great film.

ComicCon is a pretty good source for foreknowledge about things like this really. I just need my sister to let me be her assistant at her booth one year so I can gather some better intelligence about things coming out in the near future. That would probably be rather awesome, but then my wife would torture me for any information I had about the show "Supernatural"......"Dominion" too, come to think of it.

DC and Marvel nailed it at SDCC the xmen cast showed up we heard about old man Logan, Gambitt, and saw trailers for what look to be amazing films! It is an exciting time in cinema to say the least. I had so many OMG and goosebumps moments watching it was like being a kid on Christmas morning again!

but the comedy in the trailer felt forced and flat. Maybe because I'm not a Reynolds fan, maybe because comic book comedy in general is pretty goofy and childish (though Marvel has done a decent job in my mind of using some snark in Iron Man's character and such). Probably won't be seeing Deadpool.

Deadpool probably won't do well in theaters because of it's edginess but I expect it will be a huge cult classic.

Not a fan of SS at all or of this BvS disaster. I grew up loving Superman and that last movie left me disgusted. Not interested at all in anything further.

But the Deadpool movie has me giddy.

The movie will defeat, trailer pretty awesome. All characters are damn good but Harley Quinn exceptional different than all. Harley Quinn jacket is appealing and interesting and provoking her fans to have it and Famous-Jackets .co .uk presenting it's same piece that's good one.
