OT: LaMarr Woodley Wanted To Give The Lions A Home Town Discount

It's Terry Foster so take it FWIW but if it's true I'm pretty bummed the Lions didn't give him a shot.
I love LaMarr, hell we all love LaMarr, but would he be a good fit outside of a 3-4?
Larry Foote. Just didn't seem to fit the scheme.
He was great with his hand-down in college. He wasn't projected as a 3-4 OLB, just got drafted by a team with that scheme and played it well.
it ain't worth shit
that I would hate to see him commit career suicide by coming to Detroit. . .
And the "Lions career suicide" meme needs to be given the blood angel.
You've been a Lions detractor for a while, surely you realize this.
For exmaple, Barry Sanders career was highly successful. Millions made, Hall of Famer, and legend. The team itself was mediocre, but Sanders career was a success. Same for Megatron.
Yeah, well, they're still the worst franchise in the NFL not from Jacksonville.
Cleveland Browns lose more games overall and more rivalry games. Splitting the series with BAL last year was early season fortune and not a trend or even parity of the type MBB has just won vs some of our rivals with such valor.
And Oakland is better?
The raiders are so bad they make the lions look like the patriots by comparison.
The kitties have won how many?

The same number that they have participated in.

is that the Lions haven't lost any Super Bowls. So that have that going for them. Not sure if it's nice though.
Actually a good move by the lions. Doesn't fit in a 4-3. Still pissed the lions didn't draft him or Harris in the second round. Instead Millen took Drew Stanton.
Did he play a 3-4 in college?
OLB, WDE AND SDE at Michigan...
Brandon Graham played MLB (for like a month), WDE and SDE at Michigan.
That he's going to Oakland to be a 4-3 weakside DE...right? Guess not. He can play both OLB and WDE (as he did at Michigan).

Woodley played left outside linebacker in Pittsburgh's 3-4 alignment, but will switch to defensive end in the Raiders' base 4-3.
"I don't feel like it's any different than playing a 3-4 outside linebacker, where you are still kind of the defensive end," Woodley said. "The only thing about the 3-4 scheme is that you are asked to drop back and cover receivers and you are standing up rushing. You still have to play the run, you still have to get after the quarterback, and that's no different from a 4-3 end. So, your hand is in the dirt and you're not dropping back in coverage."
I wish teams still ran a 5-2 like my D in high school so I had an understanding of what they're trying to do.
He didn't fit the scheme and the Lions don't really need him. Not to mention they have very limited cap space.
They employ a drunk old boy (Lewand) as their "capologist." His credentials? Lifelong friend of Bill Ford, Jr. and son of WCF's lawyer.
Given that the Lions were the only team in the league to lose money the last few years, he is obviously horrid at his job.
Just another reason the Lions are so pathetic.

Unless the discount was like 50% of what he got in Oakland, it wasn't worth it. An aging DE with possible injury problems is not what the Lions need.
