OT: Lakes P.A announcer
This guy is so mono tone even when annoucing the Lakers line up. The worst P.A annoucer ever.
He isn't offering FREEEEEEE PIZZAAAAAAAAAAAA?
Blasphemy...
But this is helped by having "Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project in the background. I'm also sure that this probably sounded better in the old Chicago Stadium instead of the United Center (at least everything for hockey did).
I hated them with passion, but damn their intro was the best.
I'd rather have this then the monster truck announcer.
GRRRRRRAAAAAAAAVEDIGGGGGGGEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! from TRRRRRRRRUCKZZZZZZZIIIILLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
Or you get the assclown that thinks this is the And 1 tour and has to run his mouth through the whole thing. This guy has been doing this since Magic and Co. were winning at the Forum.
He's classic. He's a throwback to the days when they were all like that (remember the Monaghan-era guy at Tiger Stadium?). I'm glad Michigan Stadium still follows a subdued approach to PA announcing.
EDIT: Why does this not show up as a reply to jmblue's comment?
John Mason is by far the best NBA announcer ever. Chicago Bulls in the 90's are classic, but I'l take Mason any day!
I've been with that voice for most of my life, having lived in LA my entire life (except for four years in A2). He is definitely one of those classic sports voices. What he is NOT is "The worst P.A annoucer ever."
