Well he didn't take the Chris Paul trade (PSYCH!) too well, and he's a pretty emotional dude. Now that they're out of the CP3 sweepstakes, it makes sense to turn a talented but volatile player with a lot of baggage (who was real pissed that you thought it would make sense to trade HIM for the best pg in the league) into a fungible trade asset so they can go get Howard.

it was a sign and trade. chandler was going to leave regardless, by doing a sign and trade, chandler gets more money and dallas gets more assets.

Chandler gets paid, and gets to play defense on a team that has offensive playmakers in STAT and Melo. He can do his thing, and they do their thing and hopefully everyone is happy. While the Knicks may have been shitty for 9 of the last 10 years, I'm sure Chandler is looking at what is, rather than what was.

Apparently the day after the trade was vetoed Odom showed up late to practice and met with the Lakers GM, leaving soon after. I get the feeling he told the Laker GM he wanted out regardless.
