OT: Kurelic is at it again
http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Meyer-Hire-Who-Flips-To-OSU-50719
It's a premium link, but since he mentioned it this morning on public radio, I think it's ok to share. Kurelic thinks that there's a good chance that Kyle Kalis flips to tsio when Urban Meyer calls. His reason being that he can't trust anything that Kyle says, because of his actions at tsio. Which, if you are any kind of a rational person, you would know that kids change their mind. I'm also sure it had something to do with his fear of the retribution that would come for switching his commitment, or even discuss changing his commitment. (Which was probably worse than even he or UM fans predicted) I find it troubling that he questions Kalis's character, when he needs to blame the classless fans who continue to harras he and his family. I think he and the whole bucknuts.com site, owe the Kalis family an apology, for the continued abuse he's had to take.

But this really bugs me, I'm tired of how much abuse 17-18 year olds take for going to school where they want to.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
No need to apologize man. We're on your side.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
for 4 years, burying Ohio defenders on running plays making those fools regret their actions.
November 28th, 2011 at 9:58 PM ^
Kurelic is a clown and that whole entire site is worthless and populated by delusional nuts.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
I will be sorely disappointed if anyone behaves the way too many Ohio fans did an wish him ill, talk crap about his family, etc.
You wish the kid the best and you move on. On a GOOD year, 75 percent of your targets end up somewhere else. Abusing a high school kid or his family for choosing to attend a particular college is among the more odious parts of college sports fan behavior.

That Dunn has not jumped ship yet. He figures he will graduate early, hold out for a month and get the F outta Ohio with out having to deal with those inbreeding truck drivers.
I'm just sayin

In fact, if I had to guess anything, it would be that Kyle himself reaffirms his commitment promptly. I don't think his decision to switch commitments was made casually, and I don't think that the reactions following it have led him to warm feelings towards OSU.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:59 PM ^
Kailis already did reaffirm a week or so ago when all of this Meyer talk started.
November 28th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
whats the rationale for switching back to Ohio then?
November 28th, 2011 at 4:59 PM ^
I have heard that both Kalis and Strobel are 100%, especially after the way they were treated by ohio fans.

How the state blew up on Stroebel kind of turned out to be a big plus for us. I have a hard time to imagine some of those recruits wanted to come back after the fanbase burned all the bridges. Twitter and FB harrasement and things like that are hard to overcome when recruiting. After all Meyer's pitch is "Hey you know those people to told you to eat shit and die? Come play for that fanbase!".
Edit: I should also mention that if you ever see a Michigan fan burning bridges, beat him with a baseball bat. Kids change their minds and there is no reason it can't change in your favor, unless of course you're a total dick to them.
November 28th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
This is the reason y some of the kids form ohio leave....they love it but they leave because of the stupid fans....I had a talk with my cuz who use to play for THE GOOD GUYS....and that was one of the reasons he left....
November 28th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
It makes me feel uneasy when i read in an article posted on here that he states 'I am still commited to OHIO STATE and i am waiting on a call from Urban Meyer.'
November 28th, 2011 at 6:25 PM ^
What?
November 28th, 2011 at 7:36 PM ^
Brionte Dunn.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
Kalis is the anti-Boren.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:07 PM ^
So he piles snow on people's driveways?
November 28th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
Whatever it takes to get some extra conditioning.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
Yeah, and that mouth breather Robert Smith. He said Michigan won't be pulling many recruits from Ohio before. Obviously.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:18 PM ^
Kureilc is just pandering to the OSU fans. He could care less that it's at the expense of an 18 y/o kid. Says a lot about Kurelic's character.
The other thing is that Kalis is not just a kid who changed his mind, which in itself is OK, but his first school had it's head coach fired and is facing major NCAA infractions. Buckeye fans tend to gloss over that part.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
A lot of ohio fans actually think that the sanctions wont be that harsh because they cooperated with the investigation. They are a delusional bunch.
November 28th, 2011 at 5:41 PM ^
I think they're probably right. If they get more than a couple extra scholarships and another year of probation I'll be pretty surprised.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:21 PM ^
will say "oh, you have Urban Meyer coaching for you now? Better make sure he has a level playing field" and give them a loss of one scholarship for a year or something.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:19 PM ^
....that would be watching him in the stands if he did go to Ohio, I cannot imagine Kalis wanting to play there. I would hope he sees that being emotionally abusive is not something a real fan of any team should be, but of course, the comments did come from Ohio.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:23 PM ^
Kalis called Hoke from the 50 yd line at Big House to commit. To me, that is a big deal. Of course there is a chance he could change his mind again. When Urban calls him I think he will give him a thanks but no thanks.
November 28th, 2011 at 6:38 PM ^
He also called Fickell to re-affirm his commitment pretty soon after Tressel left. I don't think he'll flip, but as with all commits, I won't be content until the LOI arrives over fax.

Kurelic is an asshat. Kalis = Wolverine.
Hoke, Mattison et al. are excellent recruiters. We should not be too concerned about Ohio; rather, Ohio should be very concerned about Michigan's recruiting.
You notice each year that Alabama, LSU and Auburn consistently pull strong classes? It's going to be like that for the next decade (if Meyer stays that long) in the B1G with Michigan, Ohio and Nebraska (and periodically Wiscy). They'll get talent and so will we...
This is Michigan...fergodsakes.
November 28th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to keep Fickel and Vrabel on the defensive side, but not sure they would stay at this point.
As noted in other posts, Mattison was Meyer's recruiting strength for 3 key years at Florida. When he and Mullen had gone the recruiting dropped off significantly.
Go Blue, Beat Ohio!

Kalis texted AnnArbor.com in response to the question does Meyer going to Columbus affect his commitment to the Wolverines that it "Doesn't affect me at all."
