OT kinda- Vote for Movie Night at The Big House (Jun 4)

Submitted by Wolverine In Exile on

Just got an email from Michigan Athletics... voting is one via email for what to show during "Movie Night at The Big House" on June 4th at 7pm. Choices are:

Invincible (Mark Walhberg plays a Philly Eagle walk-on)

Race (Jesse Owens runs faster than Nazis)

Space Jam (Suck it LeBron, the original's going to be better than your remake)

Star Wars The Force Awakens (personal bias-- YEEEEESSSSSSSS)

When the Game Stands Tall (the story of how Matt Gutierrez got shafted by Chad Henne)

Zootopia (Disney animal movie from this winter-- sorry I got nothing)

So while l would love to see Star Wars for the Nth time (and with 100k people!!!!), my only request is not to vote for Race. I'm not racist or a Nazi lover, but there is no reason on God's Maize earth that Michigan Athletics should be promoting the success of History's Greatest Buckeye. In the Big House. We have the Jim Tressel Years Season Recap videos for that.

I used to have a high school student who wore a pornographic version of babs bunny on a t-shirt.  It was the creepiest fucking thing ever.  And worse when the principal was giving me shit for even calling the kid out...

I (a 38 yr old male) would take my two oldest kids (aged 6 & 3) to see Star Wars, Zootopia, or Space Jam. I would not take them to see Invincible, Race, or the high school football movie. If I'm Michigan I'm hoping for either Star Wars (widest, most passionate fan base hitting both townies and students still in town) or Zootopia (hoping for more drag along ticket sales from all the families in the area with a relatively newer popular kids movie).

If I was going to do this, I'd ask my teenagers their preference. Another way to go would be a double feature, with a G or PG movie to begin. I'm old enough to remember those drive-in days.

If I had to choose, I'd almost rather the episode be one of the undisputed classics of the  series, like "Monster A Go-Go", "Manos: The Hands Of Fate" (imagine 100,000 people in one place watching Manos - exactly, you can't) or "The Creeping Terror". I will say that "Werewolf" was a funny one from the Sci-Fi Channel era, as was "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank" (WHY did Raul Julia agree to do that? WHY???)

Vote for Star Wars or you are a mean person and not my friend. Edit: never mind just remembered I'll be in Florida that day.

If they're trying to get families out then Zootopia is a good choice. I saw it in theaters and thought it was pretty good.
