OT: Kiffin to Niners?
ESPN reporting:
Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin is a front-runner for the same position with the San Francisco 49ers, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Presumably, though, Schefter also thinks Oakland is in play.

This just in: Alabama has given a huge raise to Lane Kiffin.

Sorry, can't oblige because that picture and that person coming from the loins of this person....
help explain the sheer dysfunctionality of the Raiders.

He had a couple of questionable calls, but what OC doesn't?
Alabama had one of the best year's offensively in its school's history. What are you talking about?
It's not Kiffin's fault the Bama CBs were god awful. They gave up the deep ball like it was NCAA Football '04. Just pick Hail Mary every play.
Bama's offense was quite stale and he made huge strides.
He was awful as a HC and I sure as hell wouldn't want him, but "he's failed everywhere" just isn't true.

Run: I formation counter left/right.
Pass: I formation play action . . . all slants but audible outside WR to Hail Mary.
Defense: 4-3 over zone blitz Sam LB

No huddle wishbone is the correct NCAA offense.

They needed all the points they could get to beat Auburn. He had a WR finish #3 for the Heisman.
Bama is Bama, but their secondary was nothing special this year and they needed the offense to bail them out more than a few times.

It's pretty obvious he's a really good offensive coordinator. Head coach? Not so much. If he gets a head coaching job again after Oakland, Tennessee, and USC I would just have to ask whoever hires him ''Why?''.

It amazes me that this guy gets opportunity after opportunity; yet what has he accomplished?

You would'nt understand. It's above you and the 10 people that live in your state.

You wouldn't want to use "would'nt" when questioning someone's intelligence.

As an OC he won a championship... (granted it was later forfeited... but USC still won those games...)

...is somewhat inexplicable to me.
He doesn't appear to have demonstrably succeeded anywhere. He doesn't stay in a spot for more than 4.5 seconds. And yet, he is continually up for new positions that are better than the last. And at one stop, the team literally mutinied against the man.

This guy is never going to be at one place long enough to accumulate a 401k
January 18th, 2015 at 5:39 PM ^
when you make more than 401k, you don't need a 401k.

Kiffin would be more qualified to coach the 9ers than the current guy, right?

I wonder who they'll get to replace him...

Yeah, although he's failed as a HC, he seems to be a pretty talented OC. Bama fans loved him till the OSU loss. Then the fans naturally blamed him for everything -- even though it was Bama's defense that really fell flat. Such is the life of an OC.
January 18th, 2015 at 3:12 PM ^
He knows Lane Kiffin personally. Says he's a bright guy, good person, but he's quiet, not "explosive" enough to be a head coach.

Well that'll be good for Bama, since Kiffin is a real douche.
