Couldn't have happened to a nice guy.
Cal is the shadiest coach in college bball. There was a 5-star recruit, Terrence Jones who announced at his press conference he was signing with Washington (not verbally committing, but actually signing). As he was about to sign his LOI after the press conference, he called Cal to thank him for everything, and Cal convinced him not to sign his binding LOI. Weeks later he committed to UK and signed his LOI

Leave it to coach Cal to get his way everytime, no matter the cost. I don't think it is a coincidence that UMASS and Memphis both were found to have committed violations during the time he coached there...
