OT: Justified

Submitted by j-turn14 on
Anyone been watching this show? I thought the first episode was an A+, but then couldn't believe they would kill the main antagonist--a neo-nazi gang leader. The second episode wasn't quite as good, but it did reveal that the bad guy from episode one wasn't actually dead. It's definitely worth following I think. I'd probably describe it as a way edgier, way better acted Walker: Texas Ranger. The rural, backwoods American South is a nice diversion from the typical big city setting of most of these shows, IMO.

Sadly I think Sons of Anarchy is also better. The Shield was amazing but SOA is just okay. Justified just does not enough violence or hot women for my book. Plus, I really don't like how slow people in KY talk (in the show).

I haven't seen this one yet. Looks a little cliche and it almost seems like a rip-off combination of Deadwood, The Shield, and Breaking Bad. I've only seen the promos though so take it for what it's worth.

As methadone, it's not bad. Certainly it's no SOA, but having new episodes of something slightly different is better than re-runs or awfulness. IMO, it's worth the 45 minutes of watching the DVRed episode. The writers do a nice job of building hints into the episode, and there is actually some depth to it; thinking about the episode afterwards reveals some intricacies that aren't immediately apparent. Also, I enjoy deciding which character he's going to shoot at the end of each show. And I look forward to seeing him shoot his own dad in the finale (THAT'S how things get done in KY!).

It doesn't matter though because nothing can touch Rescue Me, The Shield, and of course It's always Sunny in Philadelphia is Seinfeld of the new generation. There's no denying FX puts out some quality shows, but I couldn't get into Sons of Anarchy.

I was once home sick and found myself in one of those situations where you're literally so miserable you'll subject yourself to anything rather than having to reach over and turn the channel. Mr. Norris then made his appearance. Easily the the worst twenty minutes of television (I didn't get through the whole thing) I've subjected myself to in years. I'd rather watch Mama's Family than this garbage-- I think QVC has a better plot. The acting was worse than most grade school Christmas pageants, and the stories were like golden age comic books. What I loved most is that Walker just has to kick a guy or punch him and he's 'stunned' until they cuff him and put him in the car. Or that the bad guys are exactly that-- not misguided youth making bad decisions with a dangerous disregard for life, but rather truly evil men who want nothing more than to steal a woman's purse and cackle with glee as they get away. Ha-HA! Bottom line-- stay away, my MGoFriends. If you've never subjected yourself to it, heed my warning. The overall quality of life will never be the same after being conditioned through an episode of Walker Texas Ranger.

I might have had too great an expectation for this show but I have found it disappointing so far. I have the last episode buried deep in DVR as I catch up from vacation. I will give it a few more episodes.
