I cant believe that just happened.
I think someone else for the US should get last rock

beat me to it

That was just flat out absurd. I mean, missing one from time to time, ok, whatever, you're pushing a rock down a sheet of ice, I get it. But holy cow, 0-4?!?! His luck (if it is that) is actually worse than either our basketball or hockey teams (which, as we all know, is saying quite a lot).

Feel bad for the guy. Putting himself in a position to win, but just not taking advantage of the opportunities he is giving himself. Seems like it can be a streaky sport. Here's to the U.S. catching on fire and winning out.

I knew he was a Canadian plant.

We don't need the help but thanks for thinking of us.

I'll admit, I too thought Shuster may have been replaced with a Canadian plant. However, our northern neighbors are neither devious nor mean spirited enough to pull this off.
I bet it was the British. They're still sore over that little kerfluffle back in '76.

I am going to say it is completely mental with this guy right now...
What makes it worse is that we blew leads in the last 3 matches...
Oh well here is to Lindsey gettin the job done today!

I saw my first Curling match today and everyone was explaining it to me. I am now curious to know when Bocce will become a summer sport.

Ignorance is bliss Joe.

Put him first or second to last, but please I beg you please do not let him curl last for the U.S. mens curling team.
February 18th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
skip of the team so by rule he throws the last 2 rocks...
February 18th, 2010 at 5:09 PM ^
There is actually no such rule.
Randy Ferbey's rink (Marcel Rocque, Scott Pfeifer, Randy Ferbey, David Nedohin) dominated Canadian curling in the first half of the 2000's. Ferbey was the skip, but curled third.

Shuster and his team weren't the best team at the Olympic trials. His team went 6-3 in round robin play, but did well in the finals.

John Shuster does hate America, but how about some of these hot women curlers. Anyone checkout the skipper from the Great Britain team, she had mesmerizing eyes.

Should be spelled "merka"

...is a very good curler who is clearly affected in making the big draw. It's mental and it happens to everyone although I feel for him that it's happening on the biggest stage (outside of the Brier, of course). It's a tough deal for the US because at the highest levels you're looking at the skip to make precise draws all the time. They are a great hitting team but for some reason the big draw is just a problem (this said, his sweepers screwed him twice in those shots where he basically threw the right weight and they misjudged it).
It is possible that Shuster could win out and you could get something; I expect them to turn it around.
