OT: John Scott movie to be written and produced by Mitch Albom
This should be interesting. Just one question though. Why?

Or will he just write about what he assumed happened?

He was totally right there and saw everything that happened.

"Why?" is the same question I asked about "Gods of Egypt."

Yep. Jamie Lannister looks like a greaseball, the special effects look terrible, and Gerard Butler should have stopped hyping up his troops after "300."

Who knew a movie where a bunch of white dudes play Egyptian gods in (what is essentially) a cartoon would look dumb?

Yeah, "Gods Of Egypt" looks a lot like it will be one of those films that, were the show still around, would have ended up on MST3K. I mean - and this is just a preliminary guess - it probably would not have bee an episode on par with "Manos: The Hands Of Fate", "Teenagers From Outer Space" or "The Creeping Terror", but it might be in that second tier of films that they lampooned that were merely awful as opposed to mind-bogglingly awful. Could be wrong there, of course.

Let me put it like this - the first glaring problem which leads you to believe that you're in for a rough ride is that there are no beginning credits. They were forgotten. You get about 3-4 minutes of terrible music and a drive through rural Texas with dialogue pointedly absent. During that time, the following exchange from Joel an the bots:
"So, what? Are we about a half hour in here?"
"No, it's like two minutes."
The film is quite literally unwatchable by itself, which makes this episode one of the best in the series, in my opinion.

He was asked "does that mans name rhyme with... Larry?" To which he chuckled and said "no absolutely not."

All hockey movies pale in comparison to "The Love Guru."

The line producer does all the real work. The exec often just nods approval.

that Mitch doesn't keep any of that money and instead donates it all to charity.

That went from something I probably wasn't going to see to something I am definitely not going to see after it said Albom is on it.
I know dude won a million awards and all but just not my style. The reptition shtick got old.
Reptition.
I mean it works well once in a while but you can't overdo it.
Repition.

I just think he has jumped the shark. I'd like to see the Dylan Larkin story though.

It will obviously be a comedy since the whole John Scott thing was a big joke.
