OT- Job Opportunities

Submitted by poseidon7902 on

To be clear, I'm not the recruiter.  I am well connected with many recruiters here in the Atlanta area because I manage a large IT team here, so have regular business with recruiters.  The information i have below is all that I have.  I'm willing to pass your contact information and resume if you want on to the recruiter.  She can then give you more information on other positions available or more insight into the ones I have listed below.

Can never hurt to put things out that we know about.  A friend that is a head hunter just let me know that Mercedes will be hiring PM's and Business Analyst in the Atlanta area (Sandy Springs) at their new HQ.  I don't know if there is relocation involved, that's for you to negotiate.  I also don't know anything about the salary.  Below is some of the information provided to me.  If interested, please email me at [email protected].  I will then put you in touch with the recruiter.

...I had a senior-level manager with one of the top brands in the world tell me that LinkedIn is a "waste of time."  I just laughed and nodded while in my head I was thinking, "wtf, dude."

I have actually received a few job offers via someone coming across my LinkedIn.  I turned them all down because I am not leaving Michigan . . . but many recruiters nowdays supplement their real life connections by searching LinkedIn for potential candidates (allegedly).

Tech writer! Don't see many of us around. My degree is actually in technical writing, and that's what I did for the first couple years out of college. I've moved into other things now, but I always feel kind of surprised when I see someone admitting talking about being a tech writer. Out of curiosity, how did you get into the field? I didn't know it existed until I saw a presentation on the major in college.

You can't fool me, Dave. Posing as the friend of a Mercedes recruiter isn't the way to find new Toys R Us employees. No one wants to work for you. You send mean emails.

Too IT focused. I was hoping I could send it to my boss. I just gave him my notice leaving him in a difficult position at a company that has a lot of issues. Would've been nice to say he can go work for Mercedes!

The ryansspam was setup recently to get around an email filter that for some reason was blocking my junk.  Initially (about 10 years ago) ryansjunk was just something I used for everything.  I've been cleaning it up and unsubscribing it from anything I can as occasionally something actually useful comes in.  Ryansspam has only been used once.

That sounds like my dream job! I'll walk to Atlanta from here. We'll negotiate the salary after I start. I don't have much experience but I'm a really great guy! When do I start?

I can leave this up for a bit in case anyone is in fact interested, but generally the "kiosk" stuff isn't long for the world around here. I do agree with others though - if we could ever get a side board going for OT, a "situations wanted" section wouldn't be a bad addition either, or indeed this stuff could be part of that.

This is an intriguing opportunity, but I've also recently been offered a job that pays $10k/month working from home for 20 hours a week. Apparently I only have to learn one weird trick. Can Mercedes compete with that kind of work-life balance?
