this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
...how the Jets had to burn two TOs super early on that TD sequence...they will be missing those bigtime during the last five minutes of this one.
A 307 pounder kicking the PAT. Now that is worth the price of admission. Just wish he would have made it.
Jets look a little lost out there right now. Who would have guessed the Lions would be the feisty ones.
Man, David Harris is just dominate. Here's hoping Kenny Demons can be 60 percent of D. Harris I'd be thrilled. He pretty much stopped that last Lions series by himself. Love seeing the Michigan boys showing up.
You dominanted this post
I missed that when I posted. Much love to the grammar Nazis.
Shit shoulder injury again
...is definitely a gamer, hope he comes back soon. Obviously I'm not a professional, but personally I feel as though Stafford did come back a bit quickly from the original injury.
I agree. I think he cam back a bit too soon. But with Shaun Hill injured I don't think they had much of a choice. I hope he is fine. When is the last time the Lion nation was this excited about football?
I hold absolutely no ill will toward Drew Stanton (even though he played for MSU), but I am absolutely terrified any time he steps onto the field during an actual game.
That was a dogshit pass to Felton that couldn't be hauled in, resulting in the clock stopping.
Really dislike the playcall in general, but c'mon, Stanton, you HAVE to make a better effort than that.
Horrible play-call on 3rd down.
get a first down and game over. stanton has to go down if the play isn't there. 100% on him. another 100% on peterson for the stupid late hit. go figure. two sparties.
This drive marks the potential turning point for the Detroit Lions. I'm still in the old mindset, so I'm assuming we're gonna lose, let's see if this team can turn me into a believer.
...is looking like the same old LOL Lions so far...
...Christ I could've tackled LT inbounds on that last play.
stafford was not even hit hard, hanson injured, dumb penalties, play calling....i hate life right now
I see that SPARTY NO!!! moments don't leave once you stop playing for MSU.
Throwing it on third down was asinine......
Same old Lions.
...and playing way too soft on that last drive. The Lions make the Jets take two or three plays instead of one or two and this game is over with a Lions win right now.
Two Sparty's screwed up the end of the game - Stanton not at least completing the pass on 3rd down and then Peterson's dumb OOB hit. Ugh.
Stanton's underthrow (in fairness, heavy pressure) and Peterson's SPARTY NO! just killed that 3 point lead.
Jets have the ball....even if we get it back we have Stanton running the offense
I cannot fucking believe this
Now way they score any points without Stafford in OT. Thanks Sparty for the loss.
Can we stop with the Sanchez love, America? He threw a bunch of dump-offs that his receivers turned into decent gains or were able to get out of bounds. That LT play was all him; Sanchez actually left him with nowhere to go. I know he just wins, but he's really not a particularly good QB.
Thank you, +1 million if I could!
That was a dogshit playcall on 3rd and 6 out of the 2-minute warning. No wonder the Rams shitcanned Linehan. With a simple run the Jets would have run out of time.
Stupid. And Stanton, on the other end of things, needs to know to suck it up and take the sack (ROLL THE CLOCK) if the pass isn't easily there.
Only the Lions could've blown this one.
...Lions were +2 in TO ratio and had a 10 point lead halfway through the 4th quarter.
The Lions gave this one away.
Ahhhh.. We had a 10 point lead with under 3 minutes to go....
that secretly wants to blow each and every Jet player one at a time? Sick and tired of the Lions getting the crappy, homer announcers every freakin' game. Aren't these guys supposed to TRY to be objective? Epic FAIL for today's Jet-homo. I don't even know his name because he's a total nobody.
...he was most turned on by the giant rock in Nick Folk's ear.
Someone needs to tell poor Nicky that blue-eyed white dudes with buzzcuts who look 12 years old can't really pull that look off.
Two ex-spartans end up costing the Lions the game. Stanton with the blown pass and Peterson with the late hit.
classic lions football
That's just a straight dereliction of duty from the Lions' offensive coordinator. That's where this game was lost. Let's see. We've got a backup QB in the game, the Jets are out of timeouts, and it's 3rd and 6 at the 2 minute warning. Let's throw a pass. Absolutely fucking brilliant. Even John L. Smith thought that was a terrible call. If we run the ball there, the Jets get the ball back with 1:10 on the clock, 1:15 max. Not 1:40 and change.
The McRib is back!!!
That call is only bad in hindsight. I like playing for the guaranteed win.
Not with the point of playing for the win, but that playcall didn't seem to be a guarantee of first down yardage, you know? Maybe I couldn't see a downfield route due to the pressure on Stanton, but that seemed like an unnecessarily risky playcall for a 4 yard bootleg toss short of the chains. Relying on a TE to make the catch and run for a first down isn't a "guarantee."
Lions got Sparty Nooooo!!ed today. God damn. I like the playcall on 3rd down but Stanton is truly the shittiest quarterback on earth. IF YOU CAN'T THROW IT JUST EAT IT AND BURN THE TIME. I propose a ban on all Sparties on the Lions, fuckers are not good football players and even when they are they're doobie-smoking shitheads like Rogers.
"doobie smoking shitheads". Thanks, I needed a laugh after that total giveaway.
They always find a way.....
I might cry. We can't catch a break. We can't. Stafford can't stay healthy, the whole team can't stay healthy, we should've won, this is horrible. This is such an unbearably bad loss. Wow. Just fucking wow.
Am I the only one who is mad that the Lions lost because THEY INJURED OUR KICKER?
