Yes, I know they will probably lose, but a man can be optimistic can't he?

Hill did a great job while filling in for Stafford, but man is this kid going to be special!  Their offense looks like a completely different team with him under center.  The future is bright for both my teams in blue!!

They actually have twice as many Michigan players as the Lions (Harris & Braylon vs. Backus), but I'm enjoying the chance to cheer the Lions on.  Don't usually get them broadcast in this neck of the woods.

GUS JOHNSON!!  SO PURE!

Bold Prediction:  The Touchdown taken away against the Bears cost the Lions a playoff berth.

"Shock the world" against the Jets, then we have the Bills and Cowboys, that could put us at 5-5 (*6-4).  All that momentum carries us over the pats on Turkey day, and then we get revenge against the Bears!  putting us at 7-5 (*8-4).  Then we'll see what happens those last 4 games!

How is that for hope???

Off topic of the Lions, but I like firstrow.net... I found it a couple weeks ago looking for the ECU game (I bet a shit ton of money on ECU) and found that site to be better than MyP2P.eu. Plus they have 5 links for the Lions game today. I have it streaming from my other Laptop to the Big Screen and have pretty damn good picture quality.

CBS NFL coverage is WAY over the top! Music, graphics, screaming announcers with gravitas and hero worship, truthiness abounds when describing the players on the teams. "The Lions want a piece of the Jets. From the head coach down to the equipment guys." Yeesh....

Okay, it was probably somewhere in the small print, but it seems like a pretty deceptive practice.

The answer is NO.  They have a special magazine-related website (thewolverineondemand.com) that does not give you access to TheWolverine.com, even though that's the website given on the cover page of the magazine, and even though the ad to subscribe to The Wolverine [magazine] is on the home page of TheWolverine.com [website].  So I subscribed and found out that for my membership fee-- well, right now, for example, my on-line membership buys me immediate on-line access to a preview of the Illinois game and a recap of the Penn State game!  Yippee!  But I can't access anything behind the paywall on TheWolverine.com.

If I'm wrong, somebody out there correct me.  At least you were smart enough to ask the question first.  Never occurred to me the two entities, though obviously related, would pull something like this.  But who needs 'em.  I've got MgoBlog for up-to-date reporting.

It's unbelievable how little some football broadcasters know about the sport they cover. The play-by-play guy just called that option-formation with Smith under center "the Wildcat" just because a black guy was taking the snap instead of Sanchez. What a silly, uninformed man.

I have to say, Detroit is a good, talented football team; but seriously, 9 penalties for 82 yards in the first half??? They have serious discipline issues.

Huge hidden play: Stafford sliding on 2nd and 9 so that it's 3rd and 1 instead of 1st and 10. I know he has injury issues but I'd love to see him dive forward to get the first down.
