Schwartz should be fired for not running the ball on 3rd down.
Oh yeah, and Matt Stafford is a pussy!
November 7th, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
Why do they do that "J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets" thing anyway?
November 7th, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
Why does Michigan say "Go Blue"?
It's a chant. It's our chant. It gets us fired up.
Good wins for Michigan and the Jets!
Go Blue!
J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!
November 7th, 2010 at 1:08 PM ^
Jets fans are to New Yorkers what MSU fans are to Michiganders, and they even have the same color scheme.
November 7th, 2010 at 1:55 PM ^
They feel the need to let everybody know that they can spell four-letter words.
This was intended as a response to NateUsMc's post
November 7th, 2010 at 2:00 PM ^
....but somehow it does seem to apply to both anyway

There are rational MSU fans out there, I'll assume the same is possible for Jets fans :]

Hill did a great job while filling in for Stafford, but man is this kid going to be special! Their offense looks like a completely different team with him under center. The future is bright for both my teams in blue!!
November 7th, 2010 at 1:15 PM ^
They actually have twice as many Michigan players as the Lions (Harris & Braylon vs. Backus), but I'm enjoying the chance to cheer the Lions on. Don't usually get them broadcast in this neck of the woods.
November 7th, 2010 at 1:16 PM ^
jets have allowed 3 points in the first quarter all season
lions already have 7
November 7th, 2010 at 1:18 PM ^
Gus Johnson is the play-by-play guy. I'm watching it for that fact alone
November 7th, 2010 at 1:19 PM ^
The Lions future is very bright, with young talent like Pettigrew, Stafford, Johnson, Best, Delmas, Suh, and Avril they will be very good next year. *knocks on wood*

GUS JOHNSON!! SO PURE!
Bold Prediction: The Touchdown taken away against the Bears cost the Lions a playoff berth.
"Shock the world" against the Jets, then we have the Bills and Cowboys, that could put us at 5-5 (*6-4). All that momentum carries us over the pats on Turkey day, and then we get revenge against the Bears! putting us at 7-5 (*8-4). Then we'll see what happens those last 4 games!
How is that for hope???

Does anyone have a live stream link for the game?
November 7th, 2010 at 2:05 PM ^
Off topic of the Lions, but I like firstrow.net... I found it a couple weeks ago looking for the ECU game (I bet a shit ton of money on ECU) and found that site to be better than MyP2P.eu. Plus they have 5 links for the Lions game today. I have it streaming from my other Laptop to the Big Screen and have pretty damn good picture quality.
November 7th, 2010 at 2:22 PM ^
It has pretty much any game you might be looking for and the quality is generally pretty good.
November 7th, 2010 at 1:46 PM ^
Would like to see Braylon do well, but only of course in a losing effort today. Go Lions!
November 7th, 2010 at 2:12 PM ^
I can't stand Braylon ever since he left Michigan. In my eyes he's become a scumbag. I don't wish any kind of success for him until he changes his ways.

CBS NFL coverage is WAY over the top! Music, graphics, screaming announcers with gravitas and hero worship, truthiness abounds when describing the players on the teams. "The Lions want a piece of the Jets. From the head coach down to the equipment guys." Yeesh....

Okay, it was probably somewhere in the small print, but it seems like a pretty deceptive practice.
The answer is NO. They have a special magazine-related website (thewolverineondemand.com) that does not give you access to TheWolverine.com, even though that's the website given on the cover page of the magazine, and even though the ad to subscribe to The Wolverine [magazine] is on the home page of TheWolverine.com [website]. So I subscribed and found out that for my membership fee-- well, right now, for example, my on-line membership buys me immediate on-line access to a preview of the Illinois game and a recap of the Penn State game! Yippee! But I can't access anything behind the paywall on TheWolverine.com.
If I'm wrong, somebody out there correct me. At least you were smart enough to ask the question first. Never occurred to me the two entities, though obviously related, would pull something like this. But who needs 'em. I've got MgoBlog for up-to-date reporting.
November 7th, 2010 at 1:54 PM ^
and the lions defense has come out on fire....the offense needs to put up some more points though...i like what i see so far...GO LIONS!!!!!!
November 7th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
It's unbelievable how little some football broadcasters know about the sport they cover. The play-by-play guy just called that option-formation with Smith under center "the Wildcat" just because a black guy was taking the snap instead of Sanchez. What a silly, uninformed man.

what a catch by Braylon!!!
November 7th, 2010 at 2:26 PM ^
Come on Braylon don't do that to us
November 7th, 2010 at 2:31 PM ^
I have to say, Detroit is a good, talented football team; but seriously, 9 penalties for 82 yards in the first half??? They have serious discipline issues.

November 7th, 2010 at 3:08 PM ^
You can only dress 53. If you take two of every position on offense and defense then you have 44. You obviously need more than 2 wide receivers, corners, etc. so the dress roster is very limited. There's no room for a backup kicker on an NFL dress roster.
November 7th, 2010 at 5:01 PM ^
but the punter must be a better option than Suh, no?
November 7th, 2010 at 2:59 PM ^
Sign Jared Lorenzen to kick extra points? LOL

Lions D really showed up today. Smith with an excellent pick!
