Love this quote:

“I’m not a dope fiend. I can say no. I just chose not to,” Richardson said. “I was in a depressing time in my offseason. That’s just that. It’s that simple. But there’s money on the line. My money is worth more than some weed. It is what it is.”

Free weed...and I don't even smoke.

143mph, pfff whatever. I've driven faster than that for hours non stop on the German Autobahn. It's all relative. In Germany, people know how to drive fast properly. Here in the USA people don't because they're not trained or used to it, hence why it should be not tolerated.

American drivers are bad.  The bar for getting a license is ridiculously low.

I drove for a year in Japan and (as I learned to drive in the U.S.) the first few weeks were terrifying.  Everything's closer together, sight lines are short, you can't break your concentration for half a second.  I come back to the states and I'm bored while everyone around me is terrified.  What, I'm giving you a whopping foot of space; that's not enough?  Why the hell do you need nothing within 15' of you?  In some parts of Japan the STREETS are 15'!

he was probably not "generally aware" the car was going 143mph.  Therefore, 2 games.  Gun is not a problem... unless of course he destroys it after refusing to turn it over.

14-year-old girls who have had their cell phones taken away (or destroyed). Richardson is an idiot who has had chronic disciplinary problems dating back to his time at Mizzou. It sounds like one or two years of jail time might be in order. This is beyond stupid. He has shown himself to be a danger to society at large, and it needs to be handled accordingly. However, this is an off-the-field incident involving one player from one team. Deflate-gate cuts to the integrity of the game and the sanctity of fair competition. In no less than a conference championship game. If Goodell or the NFL is seen to lose control or if they appear unable to protect those things, they and the league are done. Brady and the Pats need to shut up and wait for the fifth game of the season to arrive. Surely Michigan Men are sophisticated enough to see the difference. Perhaps not...
