Can someone tell me how this man isn't going to jail for years? He was going 143 mph with a 12 year old and a loaded handgun in the car while reeking of weed. That's quite the offense.
Goodell is going to publically execute Richardson, right?
Yes I ran from the cops once in my Audi A4 at 135 MPH. Yes it was in the Nevada desert. Yes I was afraid of a ticket. Yes I got in trouble. Yes it was fight or flight. Yes nobody was hurt. Yes it was stupid and I apoligized. No I do not smoke. No my handgun was legal.
Tell me you haven't done the same.
I haven't done the same.
But I did hide from my dog once when I ate his Beggin' Strips.
Well, I'm probably the only guy who drove from Ely, NV to Wendover, NV without dropping below 100. Maybe someone can try and repeat it around Sep 3rd from SLC. I wouldn't recommend it, was young and dumb.
Much scarier Peggy
I think you have to be high to eat Beggin' Strips.

Yes. If you smell any way but with your nose.
Freak.
In the words of esteemed philosopher Silvio Dante, "If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're built upside down."
No, not at all, he must have used this men's cologne....
Why the f&*( is marijuana illegal there? It's not in my state.

Anyone else get the feeling that legalization will be happening in many more states? Our police deserve to be fighting more important battles.

Once California falls in 2016 the green economy will become irresistible for the rest of the country.
whether or not weed is legal, driving while impaired (whether by alcohol, prescription drugs, or recreational drugs) will continue to be illegal.
The NFL is a joke.
This dude will get a 4 game suspension.
And the world will continue to discuss deflated balls

When it comes to black suspects, there's a whole lot of "I can't trust what cops say" in the news lately.
What does the gun have to do with anything? Did he shoot someone?
I didn't neg you, and I'm not sure if you are serious, but I have a similar question. If he didn't get into an accident, then why does it matter that he was driving 143 MPH?

possessing a gun while drunk or high is a bad idea. also illegal.
"Fuck the police" - NWA *and Sheldon Richardson*

in colorado before they raised the interstate limits back up to 70 mph. we were on the I-70 and were joined by 3 CHP units. that was interesting. no ticket, but quite an explanation.

I've done about 115 mph in a car, 130 mph on a motorcycle, and 100 mph on a snowmobile.
All are frighteningly fast and dangerous.
on I-94 back in the day.
I had it floored for a few minutes.
Young and stupid, but it was thrilling on slight turns to see the lane markers whizzing by.
Beat that MPH / Horsepower ratio (from stories from your young and stupid days, not going out in the present and actually doing it).
Details not to be disclosed... but yes, and several times. I think we nearly averaged over 100 on the trip from Michigan to Cali for that sweet Rose Bowl game with Woodson.
Legally speaking, I did hit 242 KPH while I was in Germany behind the wheel of a slick rental Benz. I love zee Autobahn.
Also, father-in-law's Z06 post-Lingenfelter is... uh... pretty quick. And then there was that Viper.
First of all, who doesn't like driving 143? It's fun. I do recommend a private track however.
Honest question: why would the arresting officer note the marijuana and hand gun and yet not charge him for those crimes as well?
Having a legal handgun is not a crime.
Having a loaded gun in the car is not illegal? I'm gonna have to google that.
People do it all the time. Called CCW. That's why crime has been plummeting.
+1 to you. I always thought having a loaded gun in your car was illegal, didn't know CCW was the exception.

Thats what I was wondering. My guess is that he owns the gun legally (he probably shouldn't reach for it next time) and that they didnt find any weed on him and only smelled it. This doesnt explain why he isn't getting in trouble for child endangerment.
probably it's in part to help articulate why he pulled him out of the car at gun point (said he saw Richardson reach for something under the seat, after that's where they found the gun). also charges are ultimately up to the DA, not the arresting officer, and can be added later.
