OT- Jeremy Lin blowing up (NY Knicks Pt Guard)

Submitted by OmarDontScare on
Harvard alum Jeremy Lin just had a ridiculous 38 point game vs the Lakers at MSG tonight. I'm not a huge NBA fan but couldn't take my eyes off this game. He apparently is sleeping on his brothers couch in NYC since he wasn't sure if he'd be cut or not. Don't think he has to worry about that much longer. Anyway, just thought I'd share with the board. Note: Darius was in street clothes for the Lakers tonight. Not sure if he's injured or what. Anyone know? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=320210018

Yes, he's an athlete and sudden NBA-superstar, but let's face it, if an Asian-American is going to challenge deeply held stereotypes, it's not going to be someone with a 4.2 GPA at Palo Alto H.S. who went to Harvard and was active in the student ministry (at best, Lin is just going to bust stereotypes about the ability of smart, decent kids to ball).

The kid who shatters the Asian stereotype is going to be a guy from Compton (or Flint) with a 0.9 GPA  who went to MSU and beat some engineering nerd's head in at a party because said nerd was rumored to have looked in the direction of his girl.   But still got to play that night, because, you know, Izzo.
