OT- Japanese Whaling Vessel Spotted in Lake Michigan
Japanese Whaling Vessel Spotted in Lake Michigan
Chicago (AP)- Local Authorities seemed perplexed on Friday when a Japanese whaling vessel was spotted on the waters of Lake Michigan. Its presence on a body of water that is absent of whales created some concern that there were other motives involved. Upon questioning, the Captain claimed to be after the “Wice Whale” that was being shown by US news media outlets. Confused members of the US Coast Guard could only assume they meant the “White Whale” that was featured in the book Moby Dick, but consulted Homeland Security in case the “Wice Whale” was code for any known terrorist activity. After detaining the crew for a few hours, they were released and continued on a course towards what appeared to be Indiana. It is unknown what sort of “Wice Whale” will be found.

Uh, what?

I can only assume that Wice Whale = Weis Whale
Because Charlie Weis is fat and such

While that is the obvious play on words, the story does a bad job by throwing in terrorism references and never addressing something more obvious like the whalers making their way toward South Bend, or something about Irish.

There's no way this is legit. No link and multiple searches of Google and AP wire content yield no results.
Great story nonetheless. The part about the vessel going towards Indiana made it hysterical.

I deserve that negbang. My sarcasm meter must have been severely broken earlier when I first read this post.

I think the word FAIL would be a compliment at this point. Better luck next time though ("Why do we fall down Master Bruce?")
