We're having football workouts and it's 100 degrees. It's bad enough standing out there working with the kids - I'd hate to be actually, you know, running and lifting weights like they will be in about 56 minutes.
OT: It's Hot
No edit for you "there" boy!
display affection publicly, regardless of the temperature.
This is where everyone puts their best "it's so hot...." saying. :-)
that guys who are making out but not scoring end up with the red balls.
I live in AZ where its in the 100's for 3 months out of the year. I'm either by a pool all day if i'm outside or I travel anywhere in California where's its perfect weather in the summer.
Don't know how people lived out here before A/C!
I wouldn't say perfect. I had the last 5 days off and the sun has only been out once and we've been topping out at 68. Even had to go with a jacket (UM officially licensed) for fireworks watching.
Yeah I was in San Diego for the weekend and it was overcast for most of the weekend. But anything is better than the 112 degree's i've been dealing with for the past week. I will take 68-72 all day.
It's 99 degrees in NC, but the humidity is low (for NC anyway). The sky is actually blue! Typically, we just get that hazy grey/white sky this time of year and the humidity slowly kills you.
It's simple. Not many people did.
I picked a perfect week to take off. I've got the air set at 75 so I don't overload it. I'll try to play golf this evening. Maybe.
After work I will slither back in there and coil up with my laptop, emerging only after the neighbors turn on their sprinklers. I will then get dressed like I am going for a jog, and proceed to run through everyone's sprinklers. Maybe I'll go buy some popsicles and Blue Point Brewery Summer Ale afterwards.
I saw a racoon picking up acorns with pot holders!
they prefer cat food in my garage.
Helllooooo pellet gun.
the good ol' pepsi and fly bait death trap...they don't even make it 10 ft from that stuff before they drop dead
"While its diet in spring and early summer consists mostly of insects, worms, and other animals already available early in the year, it prefers fruits and nuts, such as acorns and walnuts, which emerge in late summer and autumn and represent a rich calorie source for building up fat needed for winter."
Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can type anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best information.
Beat to the punch!
have opposable thumbs?
Tigers love pepper, they hate cinnamon.
It's a balmy one in the shorts of many a man this day, my friends. Gold Bond up and good luck to you all.
It is way too hot. I was sweating doing the dishes. I only hope the heat was the cause of this and not the level of shape i am in.
at works sucks, but i work in a kitchen all day... there is nothing better then standing over 2 hot grills cooking all day... its was probably around 100 degrees in there and to top it all off there is no air movement what so ever back there... we have 3 fans blowing and it does nothing but blow hot air around... right now i'm sitting on my couch letting my AC cool me down before i decided to do anything else...
Definitely read that as "nothing better than standing over 2 hot girls" the first time through and did a double-take. Sorry they're just grills.
Is a few posts down...
Still want to know what you wore running through your neighbors' sprinklers...
Didn't get around to it today, but normally an old ratty motocross or greek life tshirt with the sleeves cut off (I enjoyed taking revenge on that ugly shirt so much btw) and some gym shorts. I do actually jog between the houses without sprinklers.
Turn your computer off. It cranks out a lot of heat, you know.
Our Design office is much hotter than engineering... they have the power computers and dual screens.
Not much I can do... I need the computer for work
cue nsfw pics - NOW!
This is what i do to cool off....
Oh. My. God. How is that possible?
I was actually eating watermelon when I read that. I almost choked.
It sucks mowing a lot of lawns on days like today.
Hot? This is awesome. I'm sorry but when I am brushing off my Subaru when it's 2 degrees outside in mid-January during a blizzard, this is damn fine with me.
Here's my argument: I'm a skiier, I can throw on layers until I'm warm at the top of a windy blizzarding mountain in Canada. But when it's hot, there's only so far you can go until the authorities get involved.
Valid point, however, frostbite isn't an option with the heat. A breeze can help -- and in the winter, it only does the opposite.
I raise you heat stroke.
And as for the breeze, that's kinda like saying the Sun can help in the winter, but not in the summer. Though more fitting analogy might be the humidity. Which I don't give a damn about in the winter.
And from someone calling themselves icefins, at that!
Haha -- icefins has different meaning behind it. I'm a Parrothead, play hockey and also fish, so it has a combination. Either way, I think everyone can agree that extremes in the heat and cold category suck but I would prefer heat over cold.
...and I've been making the same argument for years. Eventually the heat and humidity get to a point where the body's natural cooling system just can't find another gear.
In Minnesota, they've figured out this genius idea of making underground heated parking garages. No snow and 60 degrees in the winter! Then when you get to work you're in another parking garage. If you want to go out, downtown Minneapolis has skyways so you don't have to brave the elements.
I mean, coming from Michigan, I have to hand it to Minnesota, they've spent a ton of money to make sure I never experience the outdoors during wintertime. With good reason: its in the single digets on a warm day.
I enjoyed Red Stripe Light over the weekend -- I must say it's an excellent choice in the heat.
my buddy's house for a swim and this:
You know, not what I was expecting, but not completely inappropriate either. And any time you can break out with a rap in the middle of a pop song, you can't go wrong.
We haven't had enough K-Pop content on here for the long summer months.
And yes, I watched it all.
I keep a bag of grapes in the freezer and pop 3 or 4 every so often. Of course, the A/C and fan help too. (And standing in front of the freezer as I'm retrieving my grapes.)
Noticed it was hotter in Michigan today than it is in Texas
...it's going to be hot.
I live in Marquette, where I think the high reached 68 today. I love the summer up here. But we'll see who's complaining about the weather come January.
If it's just temperature, I'll take the cold (even though over the years natural gas has gotten more expensive than electricity).
But big precipitation sucks in any season. Normally, driving in the snow blows, as does clearing sidewalks. But after some of those flooding rainstorms with a side of Tornado over the last month or so, I'm not sure that's much better.
I need to build a lazy river around my house.
