OT- Iowa lineman in serious scooter accident captured on camera, will be ok

Submitted by aawolve on
He was competing for the starting center position against Ferentz's son. A little banged up, but otherwise ok. That's one lucky Hawkeye, careful out there on those scooters!

my friend once told me riding a moped is like doing it with a fat chick.

fun to ride, but you dont want your friends to see you on one.

glad he is ok but Oline should not be on scooters

I thought this was going to be a joke based on how long the text stays up there... but... wow - he is really lucky to be OK after that.

When I was younger, I almost did this to a dude on a bike; scared the living hell out of me.  No one walked or biked anywhere where I grew up (Waterford) so pedestrian right-of-way on left turns was a new concept to me.

I wonder where this was, because I have friends in Iowa City and have driven around there a couple times, and all the left turns I encountered were solid red and they didn't blink on green.  You had to wait for the arrow every time.

My junior year my friend had a moped that he rode to football practice everyday, and one time I just took off on it messing around and smashed straight into the school on it. Luckily myself, and the moped were okay.

Koeppel is dealing with lingering soreness

That part was probably unnecessary.  I would have gone with

despite his injuries not being severe, Koeppel got HIT BY A FREEKING TRUCK, and therefore doesn't have to justify his absence.

the loser is always the same, no matter who was at fault.

When my daughter was at school at Wisconsin, she said that scooters were real common, and that lots of FB players rode them. Crashes happened all the time. It's a great combo—Madison+beer+scooters... what can go wrong?

The Iowa City plaintiff's bar must be all over that poor guy. The driver of that truck is going to owe somebody some money. Unless Koeppel ran the light, or something.
