He was competing for the starting center position against Ferentz's son. A little banged up, but otherwise ok. That's one lucky Hawkeye, careful out there on those scooters!

Most motorcycle/moped versus cars down here are very serious. Then again, they are not required to wear helmets so you can use your imagination. I've been to several of those accident scenes.

When I was younger, I almost did this to a dude on a bike; scared the living hell out of me. No one walked or biked anywhere where I grew up (Waterford) so pedestrian right-of-way on left turns was a new concept to me.
I wonder where this was, because I have friends in Iowa City and have driven around there a couple times, and all the left turns I encountered were solid red and they didn't blink on green. You had to wait for the arrow every time.

My junior year my friend had a moped that he rode to football practice everyday, and one time I just took off on it messing around and smashed straight into the school on it. Luckily myself, and the moped were okay.

In some of the least surprising news ever, Koeppel was declared out for the season opener against Eastern Illinois; despite his injuries not being severe, Koeppel is dealing with lingering soreness

When my daughter was at school at Wisconsin, she said that scooters were real common, and that lots of FB players rode them. Crashes happened all the time. It's a great combo—Madison+beer+scooters... what can go wrong?
