OT - Interesting betting line
Not sure how well received this will be but right now BYU is the underdog in their matchup with Gonzaga tomorrow. I don't think I've ever seen an 11 seed be favored in an 11-3 matchup. I realize Gonzaga has played well recently but all their wins in the regular season were against joke teams. I'm trying to figure out if the Big East was just vastly overrated, st. johns had a poor showing yesterday or if its actually possible that the Zags should be favored tomorrow. At +110 for BYU I feel confident betting on that game. Thoughts?
Did the BYU player that got suspended for having sex get reinstated at all? If so, probably explains part of that line. He was their leading rebounder and a solid post presence.
people jumped off the national championship bandwagon with BYU but playing an 11 seed and not favored? They handled Wofford pretty well and still have Jimmer who is still playing outrageous most every game

pretty strong claim to be backed up by no reasoning
I wasn't that impressed with BYU against Wofford. They had a tough time pulling away from them. If Jimmer's not on his game, they look pretty vulnerable. He doesn't seem to have that much help.
That is wrong.
playing their best basketball down the stretch, I believe they have won 10 or 11 in a row. They have a good combination of inside and outside scoring. Meanwhile BYU is not nearly as good, without Davies. At this point Jimmer is trying to do it by himself. I can definatly see Gonzaga being the favorite in this game. Filling out my bracket, I thought the winner of Gonzaga and St.Johns would beat BYU. Unfortunately I picked the wrong winner in that matchup.
I believe Washington was favored over New Mexico last year in a 3-11 matchup. I'd trust Vegas over the tournament committee when it comes to picking winners.
Agreed, I'll take the opinion of the people whose income is dependent on how they project these games. If ESPN's wrong, oh well. If the guys who make these lines are wrong, they're fired.
their lines are to try to create equal betting on both sides, not predict the outcome
I would take that bet. Just one man's opinion, but I think BYU will roll the Zags.
The betting line is the forward-looking vote with your money view.
Having to play without an important tool in the box changes the outlook considerably.
