OT: Insignificant Things Open Thread (NO POLITICS)

**NO POLITICS**

Seeing as there are no significant news stories unfolding tonight, I wondered if we could get a POS bang together about what you are doing to bide the time.

I, for one, haven't turned on the TV or browsed the internet at all, assuming that I would be disappointed by the fact that nothing is happening tonight.  I may play some Sudoku in a bit, I'll keep you updated.

What menial things are everyone else doing on such a run of the mill November evening?

**NO POLITICS**

Seriously, NO POLITICS! One month Bolivia trip for any mentions timestamped after 10:31 EST. [zl]

ARE YOU SERIOUS?? This is one of the most important days of the year, one that will not only have a great effect on the following months, but the rest of our lives!

I can't believe you would snub the Toledo vs Ball State game like that, shame on you.

Raiding my 8 year old's candy stash (he got over 9 pounds of candy on Sunday-trick or treat got weather delayed) while on Mgoblog.   TV is on in the background....news or something.....

The GOOD news  for me is I live in Ohio and finally the damn ads have ended (both sides).  And I'm not kidding when I say that tonight, at 7:20pm (10 minutes to polls closing) there was a Presidential ad on the radio.  Battleground states like ours get freaking slammed with ads morning, news and night.  About something......

Sadly, I have to be keeping an eye on the stuff everyone is joking about not seeing: internet, TV, I'm probably supposed to keep track of telegraph and tin-cup telephones as well, per the wishes of my professors (tough to avoid as a public policy student). However, none of them said anything to discourage heavy drinking whilst watching non-Toledo play non-Ball State, so I'm having a better time than I would have thought.

The girlfriend was taunting me saying this fifteen hours of watching was payback for her bigger load as an engineer-to-be until she came home and found a twelve pack and bottle of wine in the fridge. That was worth a pretty good laugh, at least I thought so.

I have MACtion on the TV and I am playing Civilization V on the laptop as the Germans. Yes, in this particular simulation, I plan to win the Franco-Prussian War. I am sipping Woodchuck Granny Smith hard cider too, and by sipping,  I mean about six bottles in.

Watching a contest between a turd sandwich and a giant douche.

On a related note, what was the MAC thinking scheduling a game on election night? Tuesday is a weird day to play a college football game to begin with; of all Tuesdays, they pick election day?

FACEPALM.

I love watching the Toledo vs Ball State game every 4 years. I fell asleep on the couch watching it in 2000 and have done the same thing each time this game has come around since.
