I'm rooting for Max.  Can't blame a guy for taking a deal like that.  At least he went to the Nats and not somewhere like NY or the White Sox.  Or the Cardinals.  I like the Cardinals on paper and their fans are great, but man if they haven't had the Tigers' number the past ten years.

and checked the score.  10-0.

do they have the mercy rule in MLB?   we have so caved in.  these are one of the many days i am glad we have no TV service.  i would have wanted to watch.   and then i would have wanted to swear.

EDIT:  did  i say 10-0.  silly me.  is now 13-0.  we are batting practice pitchers to the stars.

Christ... this is like the 3rd day in a row in which a pitcher has a perfect game going for 6 innings or longer...

The play that just ended the 8th makes ya think it's possible. There's always a signature defensive gem in these things. See: Gregor Blanco saving Matt Cain's perfecto

Yeah man Armando def got hosed on his day . But I think scherzer did too. That dude clearly leaned into into it with that big ass elbow pad. What a dick. I think he can expect a real HBp tmrw... I know umps never ever call it but man if there was ever a time...

is a heck of a game.  look at that box score. 106 pitches.   interestingly, with his sick ERA, his record is still only 8-5.   wish we still had him.  get that we don't...$

I may be still a little fed up with how Florida Softball operates, but MLB needs to take a look at that HBP and get on the umps to call that correctly.

Leaning in to intentionally get hit by the pitch is clearly against the rules at all levels of Baseball.  Pretty clueless or gutless or both by that Ump to not call it by the rules.

I will say that watching Scherzer's season thus far, well, from afar has me missing Max here in Detroit. Actually, there have been games where I think I've missed max rather a lot. Still, congratulations to him on an excellent performance today. I don't think there is an ill word one can say about what he can contribut to any team.

salt on the wounds. Happy for Max, but I'm at the point that I think the Tigers need to get into selling mode. This thing is just about dead.

Well this is as close to Johnny Vander Meer as I'll ever get. You're an enemy now Max but damn if Washington isn't getting thier monies worth.
