I'm hoping for the best for you. I know what it's like to lose a pet. The day I lost my first dog was one of the worst days of my life. They really are part of your family.

Best wishes for your family and dog. I understand how Hunny is a part of your family. I had a miniature poodle that was in and out of MSU's vet hospital the later years of her life for epilepsy and then cancer.

Best of luck with Hunny.  I live in dread of they day we will lose our 12-y/o Golden Retriever.  She is such a sweetheart and a part of the family.

It always amazes me how animal lovers (dog owners especially), unite over love of our pets. I know we love our dog very much and I think that we would likely take similar steps.

Pets should live as long as people if not longer if years were granted based on truly selfless love given.

My daughters Goldfish I bought her for Christmas died... Yea all 6 of them they died throughout the day, my niece noticed a few of them and was scared cause she thought they were starring at her

I'm an athiest who thinks that all religions & prayers are about the stupidest thing ever invented.

but the post was properly titled as OT and was basically a simple shout out for some personal support.  
People responded in whatever way meant something to them and with caring intent to Crime Reporter.  It wasn't a debate about politics, religion, or dogs; it was about reaching out to others when you needed them, hopefully in a moderately supportive community.  
OT? sure but it's pretty clear this wasn't a solicitation to start an MGoSunday School, or an ad for the Dog Fancy Fan Club.

I'm pretty comfy with the mods allowing this on Christmas Day, a week before the bowl game.
