OT: I love High School football

Submitted by natesezgoblue on

I love HS football.  I think its when the game is at it's purest.  One of the things I love the best are some of the pregame entrances.  IMO this was to cool not to share.

That was the queerest thing I have ever seen. I guess I don't get it. Turrible! You can't pay me to watch high school football. Other than uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite, nobody could sit an entire season watching it. I get the big games. Sorry just my poor honest opinion.

How was this queer? Hell, half their routine is almost identical to the slide step of Ray Lewis. I don't think it's great, but I also don't think it is obviously queer or terrible

Did I miss something here? Hawaii isn't "queer" if your actually responding to the post above you. And regardless, "queer" isn't really an insult, it either means gay or weird depending on how you use it, and neither of those things are bad.

I love HS football, but a lot of it is economic.  You can get into the game with seats between the 25 yard lines, get two coffees and a hot dog, and pay less than $10 at many schools down here.

I love high school football, but this video didn't remind me of that in any way. I guess when I read "when the game is at it's [sic] purest", I'm not expecting the video to consist of piped-in music and a choreographed dance routine. If it's pure football that interests you, check out a MIAA game. There are a lot of reasons to play high school football (all of your friends are doing it, girls like football players, your dad is making you do it), but the only reason anyone plays Division III is for the love of the game.

Ehh I kind of thought that was lame. I kept thinking this looks like a team that's gonna get its ass kicked by another team that just walks out onto the field because they were too busy practicing blocking and tackling to do a dance routine...

Not topic worthy my man…  Watching a bunch of boys do choreographed dance moves in football tights, and saying you love it begs the ‘no homo’ tag at the end of your post…

A better story would have been like back in ’79 when I was the first kid at Power Middle School with a boom box and we’d stun the opposing team by parking the boom box courtside and blast “TNT” by AC DC as we rolled out of the locker room to start lay-up drills before the game…  Talk about imposing, especially when we’d manage to make two or three lay-ups in a row…  We went an undefeated 4-0 in games where we intimidated our pre-pubescent opponents with T-fucking-N-T.

/boom awesome story bro’d

This is stupid.  I don't want to watch a bunch of chubby high school boys do some silly dance.  Isn't that why most schools and universities have, like 5-6 dance teams who "dance" in marginally different ways and wear various types of slutty outfits?  You've got the traditional cheerleaders, then the "urban" dance crew who does a lot of that "uh uh uh duh duh" stuff like they have in rap videos.  Then those flag twirlers (meh, looks like their stuck in the 50s...) and the halftime show girls.  Honestly, what ever happened to just playing the game?  Nope, you've gotta dance around like a fucking idiot everytime you touch the ball, ball carrier, quarterback, rush for 2.2 yards, catch the ball like you're supposed to, defend like your supposed to, or do ANYTHING on the football field.  Damn the NFL.  Just hand the ball to the ref like you've been there before, don't do some goddamn dance like some ninny.

What a joke. If I was on the opposing team I would be absolutely fired up to come out and hit these kids. Too many kids in high school have seen too many YouTube videos where they have to do some stupid dance entrance or celebration. I'm not even that old and this stuff is as bad as it comes. Good lord reality tv and ESPN have killed everything. The reason pros and even college teams can get away a little bit with this type of stuff is because they are at the highest levels and can back it up if need be.

So are they a dance team or a football team? Complete garbage if you ask me. If they want to dance maybe they should stick around for the half time show while the real football team heads to the locker room.
