OT: I Hate Christian Laettner
A trailer for ESPN's "I Hate Christian Laettner" 30-for-30 is out. The film premieres on March 15. Jimmy King and Jalen Rose are featured in the trailer, so it looks like there's going to be a lot of Fab Five in this thing:

Going to Duke's basketball camp as a Sophomore in high school and the first day I walked into Cameron a bunch of the players were scrimmaging. Alaa Abdelnaby was just dominating Laettner and Laettner got so pissed off he took the ball and drop kicked it across the stadium, right as Coach K was walking out. Krzyzewski gave him a Bobby Knight style reaming and I really never liked Laettner after that moment.

A couple years ago, they had a Villians vs. ex-Cats exhibition game for charity at Rupp. Laettner was the player-coach for the Villians. He only took about 5 shots in the game, but he made sure EVERY one of them was a fall-away from the free-throw line. He purposely got himself ejected late-in-the-game. Laettner totally acted like a WWE character, but I thought it was cool he went to Lexington to do that for a charity.
Great basketball player. Even greater of an asshole.

During the Fab5 v Duke battle in A2 (where the Fab5 took Duke to 2 OTs), Webber and Laettner were locked in some intense shit talking. Chris told Laettner that he was going to dunk on him 3 times. He did it once, and told him 2 more were coming. Then he did it again, and told him 1 more was coming. Then he completed the trifecta. It was a beautiful thing.

In Toronto our US channel feed is the Buffalo tv stations, so we get a lot of Bobby Hurley news since he's the head coach at UofB. Every time I see his face I am reminded of those Dook teams in the early 90's and how much I disliked them.
