OT - House of Cards Season 3 (NO SPOILERS)
Even as spring practice is underway for UofM football, the next big event I was excited about this Feb. was the return of House of Cards.
Just seeing if there are any others out there that are ready to binge this weekend on season 3 and what your expectations are for Mr. Underwood and Claire.
No spoilers if you have already started the season, just talk about what you think might happen.
Also, I felt that this had a great summary of past seasons and where the show left off if you were like me and forgot some elements of the story line.

I will be watching starting either tonight or tomorrow. But I saw one guy say that the first two eps were good. I'm excited.

I will be watching the whole season this weekend. Pretty excited.

Oh, right, must remember to stock up on food before I start.

It's on!

Starting now. Away we go.

And I cannot stand Claire. Probably my most hated TV show character of all time. And I am also rooting against Frank at this moment (is that normal?)
February 27th, 2015 at 1:17 PM ^
17? Aren't there only 13 eps in the season?
February 27th, 2015 at 1:16 PM ^
the first two seasons about six times. You really pick up a lot of nuance after multiple viewings.
Outstanding cast and writing. If anyone is interested, the original BBC series is available too.

I did not care for the original.

started watching it yet, but I usually like British TV. I figure I'll give the first episode a go and bail if I don't like it.

If you enjoyed reading the sentences above and think you would enjoy hearing people talk like that for an hour then you'll LOVE the show.

you can stuff 30 cotton balls in your mouth and then go yell at your neighbors. . . or you can watch the show. It's the same

About 5 episodes into the new season, just as good as the past 2 IMO

I'm on the 7th episode and I am shirking all my responsibilities I had set out for the day prior to work at five, but I can live with that.
February 27th, 2015 at 1:34 PM ^
About halfway through the first episode. Planning to knock out as many episodes as I can tonight and what's left before the game tomorrow.

The more and more I read the recap of previous seasons above, it reminds me of how much I think the most interesting character in the show is Doug. I really like the way the writers have taken his character down a different road then anyone else and it seems like he has his own show in a way.

I found Peter Russo to be quite compelling in season 1, as well, but Stamper was 1B to his 1A. Stamper's loyalty, effectiveness, confidante status, all make him share the other face of the coin that Claire occupies.
February 27th, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
For some reason, Stamper is my favorite character. Claire is my least favorite, but she is great at being a stone cold bitch.

I couldn't for the life of me remember how he ended up in the woods beaten up like that...recaps are your friend!

Love the series!
February 27th, 2015 at 2:27 PM ^
I will probably get to this next week sometime. I enjoyed the first 2 seasons, and this one will probably be very good also. I still have to catch the last four episodes of Parks and Rec and the last 2 Person Of Interest, so House of Cards will have to wait.

she's lucky (and I'm lucky, too) that I have an exam on Tuesday or else I'd binge watch it all tomorrow and there would be irreparable damages caused by such actions.
February 27th, 2015 at 4:37 PM ^
I was fortunate enough to have to work from home today, so I am trying to pace myself, because I only have 13 episodes before next year. I watched 1 today...and I remeber why i love it so much.

The story arc thus far (I haven't watched s3 yet) would seem to suggest that the third and final season is where Frank finally reaps the fruits of his scheming and sinning but if anyone can escape that comeuppance it's the honorable senator from South Carolina.
February 27th, 2015 at 5:55 PM ^
I am now kind of glad that True Detective isn't until the summer . So much good tv on right now that I can't keep up . Especially with Mad Men and GoT not too far off
February 27th, 2015 at 6:15 PM ^
SPOILER: Frank Underwood is a terrible person.
February 27th, 2015 at 6:23 PM ^
Frank goes over the wood this season.

I saw my first episode last year when I could not sleep from jet lag. Well, let me tell you, that did not help. I ended up binge watching the first two seasons over the next several days. I'm up to episode 4 in S3 and, in my opinion, it is every bit as good.
