OT: Hot Rod Rowdy Piper Dead at 61
One of the greatest heels ever. Also one of the best ever on the mic.
for the excellent point you just made regarding Piper on the mic. Nobody in pro wrasslin' could ever match up with Roddy's oratorical skills. Sure, it was nonsense he was usually arguing about with other wrasslers, but he was the master of it and turned it into somewhat of an art.
RIP to one of the all-time great entertainers of the pro wrestling world.
One of my all time favorites along with the Macho Man.
They are dropping like flies... who's next?
he's my age. the human body can't look like that at 53 yrs old in the absence of signif chemicals. after 3 decades on juice trouble can be anticipated.
I disagree. I see a fat guy in that photo with big arms. Lots of guys look like that at 53.
Im pretty tired of people not understanding that a person can keep in shape at an older age. I just turned 46 and Im ripped and in the best shape of my life because I work out, run and hit the heavy punching bag all the time. This doesnt make me special...its that I actually work out! People who have good genetics can certainly be ripped well in to their 50s. I see lots of guys at the gym older than me who are in great shape. I plan to be too.

and you weigh.....? the mass is the difference. nice that you are in shape and all, but its not comparable. scottie's not fat at all, he's just not flexing. when we were young he was nowhere even close to that type of bulk. he is huge and has been for 3 decades, far past what he was back in the day and far past any sustainable level, IMHO, without chemicals.
R.R.P.
The fight I remember, he hit The Hot Rod with it, which sent him down in a heap. The Mountie turned his back for a second which allowed The Hot Rod to reveal his shock proof vest. The Hot Rod then proceeded to kick his ass and get the victory.
(It went down something like this.)
RIP Rowdy. We thank you and you will be missed
I loved him in "They Live!". Very sad...
