OT - Hopslam in Chicago
For those of you Chicago MGoBloggers, my local beer store got its shipment of Hopslam this week. I know that there was some turmoil as to when it would be released given the weird two announcements from Bells. But I assure you 2012 Hopslam is out and it is wonderful!

This "Field Songs" is pretty damn good, and I'm only through two songs.

Johnny Blue a while back. Must say I was a bit disappointed. Prefer my Midleton very rare or Suntory Yamazaki 18, both for about $50 less a bottle.

that is all. LOL.
(Seemingly an oxymoron, but really pretty good - just had to feign snobbery).

it's Japanese single malt. And it's damn good. Blows my Macallan 18 out of the water.

Just picked up a case at the Binny's in Lakeview. They also have some Founder's Double Trouble and Breakfast Stout too.

Ranking of Bell's:
1) Hopslam
2) Sparkling (on tap @ Ashley's over New Year's, did not care that it was 12PM and none of my wife's friends were drinking)
3) Solsun (was underage at the time, just tasted better I guess).
I hate you f*ckers who have access to fresh Hopslam in Michigan. Loved getting it on tap down the street from our old house in Plymouth at Herman's Old Towne Tavern.
Cville; where did you score the mini kegs in Va? I'm in MD, but regularly hit DC/NoVa

But as soon as I make my next paycheck for sure. Two Hearted is one of my go to beers, so Hopslam and that are probably my top 2 for Bells (I'm an IPA guy). After that I'm not really sure. Oberon, Best Brown, Oarsman, Double Cream Stout, and the Java Stout (although not as good as a few others I've had) are pretty solid. The only one I really have had a truly bad experience with is the Cherry Stout - maybe this year I'll have to give it another try.

1. Black Note
2. Hopslam
3. Expedition Stout
4. The Oracle
5. Third Coast Old Ale
Then Two Hearted and all the other classics.

I was just at Plum Market in Ann Arbor and they've got tons of it. sixers are going for $16.99 though, which is more than I've seen it for in previous years.

$19.99 for a 6 pack here. Just glad we got it.

yea, not cheap here, either. I bought two sixers and a 750ml bottle of stoli and was out like 65 bucks.

It was going for $59.99 in DC last year, near Georgetown. I thought it was priced by the case.

However all the cases sold out the first day. People all go out and buy 3-4 cases when it gets here. The bars get their kegs next week. Can you order this online?
