Just watched Game Day and saw as they were closing Herbstreit went around to all of the sailors around the set and thanked them each individually.
yes plz
I don't give a shit if they are a Buckeye or even William Gholston, I respect individuals who respect our troops/sailors. Everyone says they do, but how many people actually go up to a soldier who is a stranger and say thanks or buy them a drink when given the chance
I used to hate the guy but his actions the last few years have made me change my mind...
The Michigan difference...
I never thought he was a homer for OSU. Always liked him, thought he brought a lot to the program when he came on board, and always thought he was a class act.
Don't know if you saw, but he picked Northwestern to win.
total dick.
Not sure I understand how that matters regarding the OP. Is he supposed to pick Michigan to win in all of their games?
Sarcasm doesn't get much more obvious.
Yeah and we are totally killing them...THAT IDIOT!
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
- Vince Lombardi
Come now, why would we hate Herbie? Would that all OSU quarterbacks played as well against us as he did.
Former Buckeye Antonio Pittman on being a poster child for compliance: "This osu tattoo stuff is silly. Cats been getting hookups on tatts since back in '01."
Plus he's been in the best Capital One commercial ever: "What number on Herb Street, Mr. Kirk?"
"The goal, the expectation of this program is the Big Ten Championship"
when Herbie would always pick Michigan to win the B1G....long time ago now i guess but I distinctly remember thinking he sure does pick Michgan alot for being an OSU guy
How can you kill that which has no life
I'm not sure on this one...he appears to be a good guy sometimes, but this is the same douchebag that announced that Miles had accepted the Michigan job back in '08, the same DB that said Purdue was the class of the B1G this season, and the same guy that played football for Ohio.
Not saying he's a bad dude, but not ready to give him a pass either.
Thank you, Coach Hoke, for bringing Michigan back.
I imagine it's due to Desmond's classiness rubbing off on him. It's definitely not from playing at Ohio.
was as classy as it gets.
...confidence is the stain they can't wipe off...
He has (almost) always been very classy, which is why his fan base has disowned him when he did not agree that Desmond Howard should die
Tenim un nom el sap tothom. Barca, Barca, BAAARCA!
Makes perfect sense. He's a class act, which is abnormal in Columbus, so he was forced to move.
I think Herbie calls it like it is a majority of the time. Plus, he gets extra points from leaving the worst state ever and moving to Nashville.
He will always be a tool for the day he shot his mouth off before a deal was in place to sign Les. That day started 3 yeas of misery that we still haven't totally bounced back from. Screw Herb now and forever.
There can only be one! Go Blue!
And the Herbie Award for "classiest college football commentator who used to be considered a huge douche" goes to...Kirk Herbstreit!!
on ESPN. I think he at least makes an effort to be objective, where others like douchebag Dan Fouts do not. If we're honest with ourselves (and thinking about our passion for Michigan), it can't be easy when it comes to your school.
"I promise you we would have walked to the University of Michigan." - Brady Hoke
Yeah. For a buckeye he's not a tool.
