Henne all the way, we all know Tom Brady is good, i love seeing Henne succeed in his still young NFL career.
OT: Henne Vs. Brady, Who do you root for?
Agreed, the Dolphins have been adopted as my fav NFL team
I also like to root for the Jake Long and Chad Henne combo.
Henne - Brady's already respected as an elite NFL QB. And, come on. He plays for the f***ing Patriots.
In all honesty, I just want to watch Long eat defensive linemen
I am a Redskins fan so this game has no bearing on my team at all. Therefore I root for both of them. Could careless who wins the game.
so defenses get blamed for the loss
Love Brady, but I want to see Henne succeed.
Denard. If you are rooting for Michigan players in the NFL you don't have an NFL team or you deny to have one (i.e. Lions fans).
Its perfectly possible to have a favorite NFL team and still root for certain players.
My team is the bears, who, if you notice, are not playing tonight. Therefore I could give a damn who wins, but I do want Henne to play well and have a successful career. I fail to see the problem.
Offense, plain and simple. You don't have to root against either--they're not on the field at the same time.
Yup. I'm hoping for an exciting, offense-heavy game. If I had to choose, I hope Henne does well, since he was at Michigan during my college years and his young NFL career could always use a boost. But I say, go QBs!
INITIATE: BANG COEDS
Like urbanachiever just said, Brady is a well established NFL qb. While it seems like Henne has been getting a lot more love lately, he's still relatively new to the NFL, and I'd like to see him get even more attention. I think a win by the Dolphins would get them, and Henne, a lot of positive news, and a big game by Chad would get him a ton of cred.
But, either way, GO BLUE!
I love seeing Tom Brady and the Patriots succeed. The Pat's are much more likely to contend for a ring this year, so I would just as soon see them win tonight and going forward. Think about it this way: the more rings Brady piles up, the more he solidifies himself as our answer to Joe Montana.
...On second thought, maybe my hate for ND has permiated too much of my life.
Henne + Long + Ross = FTW.
Both. If I had to choose, I'd pick Brady because I've been a Patriots fan for a long time.
Brady, Mesko, Crable all the way. Go Pats!
and on that note the space emperor boots one 63 yards
Chad Brady would kill Tom Henne
Holy shit. That was a sick punt. 63 yards in the air.
I ROOT FOR ZOLTAN. Dude just destroyed that punt. 63 yarder.
Holy shit, Zoltan just punted that 63 yards with no roll. I miss him.
Brady get no first down and then he back Henne up. CONFUSION...ANGAR!!!!
63 yard punt, that's what I'm talking about baby!!
and this is why I love this blog. I create a forum to get some opinions and ten minutes later have 11 comments. My vote is also for Henne. I love to see this guy do well. Maybe I should have added Jake Long as well. Either way I must say "Go Blue."
+1s for all ZOLTAN comments!!
Zoltan, and secretly wishing NE had the balls to let him fake a punt ultimately resulting in a Zoltan TD pass. I can dream right? Space Emperor of Space and all that.
Zoltan to be the first Hall of Fame punter? I know it's (unbelievably) early, but that would be AWESOME.
Zoltan and fake punts during MSU week.
OMG that punt was awesome!
I have 3 fantasy teams: one has Brady, one has Henne, and the third is playing against Henne. I need Brady to have a huge game for me to win, while I need nothing from Henne since I've won that match-up. Henne can screw me with a good game in the third match-up. Fantasy makes you a nutcase.
but if only 1 could have a monster game, I'd have to take Brady, he's on my fantasy team.
Eff the Pats
Go whomever they're playing
Oh the Fins have Henne? All the better. Miami Dolphins #1!!!!
I'm from the Boston area, so Tom Brady all the way. Man, lots of Michigan connects. Zoltan, Long, Henne, Brady...Stephen Ross owns the Dolphins...
get +1s from me.
well alllllllllrighty then!
Would you like a cookie?
LACES OUT DAN!!!!!
crable is on the pats as well
I don't remember ANYONE saying that in Pet Detective?
No + for YOU!
I want Brady to win one more Super Bowl to make him the greatest ever. Then Henne can take over so that a Michigan QB can be on top at all times. Then Denard can come in and break the NFL QB mold.
I've got home and away Brady "M" jersey, his Pats jersey, and a Brady bobblehead. I would have said Brady even before the Lloyd Brady phenomenon, but that clinched it for me.
Seriously, for whatever reason, I've always been a huge Brady fan. I think it dates back to how he was screwed over by Lloyd Carr in 1999. I learned an important lesson from the '97 National Championship team. 5th year Sr. starting QBs are invaluable. So what does Lloyd do against state in '99? He gives Henson huge minutes in the first half. Henson was supremely gifted, no doubt, but he threw one costly INT and was 6-12 in the game. Brady was 30-41 in that game. Plus, we were rolling under Brady going into that game. We fell behind sparty 27-10, and Brady rallied us back, only to fall short 34-31. Had Brady played the whole game, I figure we win that one and go on to win another national championship. Our other loss that year was the next week against Ill, clearly a hangover game.
If I ever met Lloyd and had the opportunity to ask him 1 question, it would be why did he play Henson in that '99 UM-msu game.
I just want to hear one announcer refer to Zolton as the Space Emperor of Space.
Henne because we graduated the same year and I played beer pong with him once.
Did he have any issues throwing the ping pong ball to high at times?
Loved the offenses with him, Manningham and Hart
I still like watching the Capital One bowl with Henne in that shotgun spread. God that was an exciting game.
But losing (once) to Brady & the Pats isn't so bad.
Henne. But I do want Zoltan to kick the living hell out of the ball each time he punts.
I just root for lots of fantastic plays from the QBs. I think I'd rather see Henne win though. I'm young enough that I don't remember Brady's wins in great detail, so most of my fantastic memories of Michigan football come with Henne at the helm.
We've had some great passes by both of them so far.
Cause I need 43 points between him and welker to win this week...
Let's put it this way.... I played Vick over Brady this week. I'm watching Brady AND Henne on my bench.
"I don't think either one of them could start at QB for Michigan now"
Ya heard that also...D Rob makes MNF!!
to giggle like a little school girl when Gruden said that
Its all full of win Everytime they mentioned Michigan, i would just subconsciously get the biggest smile on my face.
Best attempt of an illustration of my face:
They showed different highlights from Henne and Brady's careers at Michigan and talked a bit about their time there. Gruden then went on to say something along the lines of "I dont think either of these guys could start there today with the way Denard Robinson is playing."
Denard mention during a Michigan QB segment on MNF with 6 min left in the 2nd.
EDIT: I tipe slo.
Denard gets a name drop after talking up Brady and Henne. It is a lot of Maize and Blue love on ESPN ... maybe some recruits are watching
I love how we all jumped on the Denard shout out ... are we obsessed fans...hell yay!!
And we damn well should be. You can say all you want about how bad our defense is, or how bad our competition's been, or whatever else. But the fact is, we have the single greatest player in college football and it makes us all act like 6 year olds in a local Ben and Jerry's
That they're in the same division and play twice a year, no?
Another pick on Henne.
Mike Trico, who I believe lives in AA, was talking about M and Gruden butted in and said neither of these guys (Henne/Brady) would start at M today.
They laughed and mentioned DROB.
He certainly is big time, he gets mentioned in a league he doesn't even play in on the game of the week.
I'm going against Henne in my fantasy league (in a close game), but I simply can't bring myself to root against him!
for 25 years now...I hate the Pats.
Go Fins! Go Henne!
Brady is one of my favorite UM players but I'm starting Henne tonight in Fantasy Football and my opponent is starting Brady so Henne is my favorite UM player tonight.
I actually drafted Brady and I picked up Henne on waivers (which was really dumb b/c they both have byes next week, but oh well) and I had the choice tonight, so I went with Brady. Right now, it looks like the wrong call, but a lot could still happen. I also have Gostkowski, the Pats kicker, and he currently has earned me more points than Brady, and is only .96 behind Henne. C'mon New England, get that pass game going! I am pulling for Henne to do well also, of course. Not exaclty the offensive shootout that most of us hoped for on here...
Brady played the Space Emperor Card. Go Patricians.
Both of these quarterbacks have such amazing butt chins.
Everyone's a winner.
it's like he's staring into my soul.
Can't help it. It's like rooting for the younger brother when the older one has already won a lot. We want multiple Super Bowl winning Wolverine QBs.
Sexington Henne. Go Fish--kick butt and take names!
I knew there would be a lot of Wolverines in the game but I didn't realize that Vince Woolfork is already in the NFL. Michigan Secondary Hating Gods!
Gotta go with all the posters saying offense. I have been a Pats fan for awhile now, but I don't really care that much about the NFL, so I just root for the Michigan guys to excel.
Brady. I'm an old-timer, I guess, but my last memory of Henne is him not taking himself out against Ohio State in his last game, even though he was too hurt to compete.
Also, if you value charisma to any extent, Brady has lots, Henne none.
You questioning Henne giving his body and playing through pain for the team, or that you've completely forgotten the Capital One Bowl.
I can tell you who I'm not rooting for: Bill Belichick's shirt. What the hell is that?
wow he looks like he just went clubbing with nerds.
Dolphins need to STOP KICKING THE DAMN BALL!!!!
because I can't stand the Pats but my God does Miami know how to get off a good punt without being blocked?!
A Space Emperor.
wow, special team trifecta. NE is getting it done.
Whoever will have the better team, win a championship, and add to the greater glory of Michigan. Lately that's been Brady. This game might decide it (though it's looking to stay that way right now). Thought lean Brady through no fault of Henne, too. He lived downstairs from me, so I had met him, and rooted for him when everyone was calling for Henson. And I'm hoping another championship will solidify him so I stop getting hives anytime I think of someone catching a football on their helmet.
(4th ring....leading undefeated team...unquestioned greatest QB of all time....whimper...fetal position...)
thrashed in this one. Henne threw some bad picks though but Miami can blame their special teams big time! Two blocked punts which both turned into touchdowns didn't help the cause either. Henne is still a good quarterback but he still makes some risky passes.
Marshall stopped running his route, which you can't do in the NFL.
horrible on the punting unit. You can't get blocked twice and expect to win to like that. Too bad Mesko doesn't play for Miami.
i was definitely rooting for Chad in this one. the picks definitely weren't good, but I'm going on record as saying they need to find a new playmaker for the backfield, and if i'm making the call, I'd get rid of Ronnie brown. When their running game goes away, Chad is essentially left to the wolves. In fact, i'm not sure if i've ever seen Brown make any kind of impact play... i know he has, but it always seems to be WIlliams doing things of note.
How Brady won't let Hoyer get ant reps in practice. Perfect week for it.
even better that he did let him come in for a snap. "ok little brother, your turn. go ahead and take a knee"
